Is it really the early Mk. I have a fire selector, and did not have a bayonet lug? Because everything I see, including this site, says that the only difference beetween Mk. I and Mk. I*, is the rear sight. --Slon95 (talk) 08:56, 30 July 2018 (EDT) | Is it really the early Mk. I have a fire selector, and did not have a bayonet lug? :I think every Lanchester has a bayonet lug. There are more differences between the Mk. I ans Mk. I*, but the only one that officially matters is the fire selector. Technically, if a a Mk. I with the adjustable rear sights went into a depot and had the fire selector removed, it would be a Mk. I* despite not having the simplified rear sight. This happened a lot, I believe it was a directive that the fire selector should be proactively removed and the guns fixed to FA as they caused so many problems. This is the reason that it is so hard to find a picture of the gun with the fire selector still attached, in fact this is the only image I can find right now to show it. It is kind of a crappy image, but IIRC the fire selector kind of looks like a wing nut with one of the wings missing, and you flick it 180 degrees to change position. --commando552 (talk) 13:32, 30 July 2018 (EDT) |

Okay, I relented and cleaned up a jacked image to replace the old one. Yes, I fix some jacked images, but you all know which ones are my own shots (I put the watermark/Trademark on my shots so you all know ;) ) MoviePropMaster2008 05:19, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
