MacGyver was an television adventure series that aired on ABC from 1985 to 1992 and starred Richard Dean Anderson as the title character, a government troubleshooter who uses his wits as well as everyday items to get himself out of precarious situations. The show was also notable for the main character's aversion to shooting guns (attributed to a tragic childhood incident). While the character never was operating weapons (save for the pilot episode), that didn't preclude him from using them in a non-lethal manner. The series would continue in several made for television films and was subsequently "rebooted" in 2016 with a new CBS television adaptation.
The following weapons were used in the television series MacGyver:
Pistols
M1911A1
The M1911A1 is used by several characters in the series.
Taurus PT92AFS
A (sometimes suppressed) Taurus PT92AFS was used by Nicolas Von Leer (Kai Wulff) in "Eye of Osiris" (S6E14). The Taurus was a pistol more readily available to Canadian armorers, so when the production moved to Vancouver in later seasons, it became the gun of choice for most villains and their underlings during seasons 4-7, taking over H&K P9S's duty from season 1-3.
Heckler & Koch P9S
The Heckler & Koch P9S is used by several characters in the series, notably in Season 1's "Last Stand" and "To Be A Man". It frequently appears as the gun of choice of most villians and their underlings during seasons 1-3. It is substituted by the Taurus PT92 and/or Beretta 92F during seasons 4-7.
Heckler & Koch VP70
A Heckler & Koch VP70 is handled by a little boy that sparks a flashback in "Blood Brothers" (S4E02).
Beretta 92F
The Beretta 92F is used throughout the series, notably by MacGyver in Season 2's "D.O.A.: MacGyver" (S2E21), when his amnesia prevents him from remembering that he detests handling guns.
Beretta 84
Eunice (Claire Vardiel) uses a Beretta 84 in "Legend of the Holy Rose, Part 2" (S5E02). Erich Von Leer (Christopher Neame) appears to use a stainless model in the same episode.
Walther PPK
Murdoc (Michael Des Barres), disguised as nurse, pulls out a supressed Walther PPK in an attempt shoot hospitalized Jack Dalton in episode "Partners" (S2E18)
Revolvers
Smith & Wesson Model 10
In "Blood Brothers" (S4E02), a flashback to 1961 shows what appears to be a Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolver used by MacGyver's friend in the incident that explains Mac's aversion to guns.
Smith & Wesson Model 28
In "Flame's End" (S1E13), MacGyver (Richard Dean Anderson) takes the frame of a Smith & Wesson Model 28 to remove a bolt from a leaking pipe.
Smith & Wesson Model 36
A Smith & Wesson Model 36 is used in several episodes. In "Three for the Road" (S2E10), a Smith & Wesson Model 36 is used by Michael Talbot (Richard Hatch).
Smith & Wesson Model 19
Through-out the flashback sequence of the episode "Partners" (S2E18), Peter Thornton (Dana Elcar) carries a snubnose Smith & Wesson Model 19 as his sidearm.
Shotguns
Smith & Wesson Model 3000
In "Three for the Road" (S2E10), a Smith & Wesson 3000 Shotgun with the stock removed is used by Michael Talbot (Richard Hatch) and his henchmen.
Rifles/Carbines
M16A1
The M16A1 rifle is used by several characters throughout the series.
M16/SP1
Another rifle used in the series is an M16/SP1.
M1 Carbine
In "Thief of Budapest" (S1E03), tribal members are seen using the M1 Carbine (sans magazine) when MacGyver attempts to recover a valuable horse.
Norinco Type 56
Norinco Type 56s are used by several of MacGyver's adversaries throughout the series.
Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk.I
A Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk.I is notably held by an Afghan tribal member in Season 1's "To Be A Man" (S1E17).
Valmet M71S
In "Pilot" (S1E01), Chinese soldiers as well as MacGyver are seen using the Valmet M71S rifles in place of the AK rifle.
AKM
In "Pilot" (S1E01), the rifle used by MacGyver as well as the downed pilot appears to change from a Valmet to an AKM.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch HK94A3 (chopped and converted)
In "Deathlock" (S1E12), Quayle uses remotely operated Heckler & Koch HK94A3 submachine guns set up in his garden to trap MacGyver. These HK94A3's have the barrel chopped and converted to look like an MP5A3.
Heckler & Koch HK94

"Fake" DShK Machine Gun (mocked up M60D)
