Columbo was an American crime television show that was originally part of NBC's Sunday Night Mystery Movie series. The show starred Peter Falk as Lt. Columbo, a quirky, but experienced LAPD detective who was seen solving primarily murder cases through his carefully-worded questions and his powers of observation. Each season of the series consisted of several feature-length episodes that would air throughout each year and the show would continuously air from 1968 to 2003. The series would be released on DVD under several different season designations, but the episode numbering here reflects the entries as seen on the IMDB.

In episode "Columbo Cries Wolf" (S09E02) seized Lt. Columbo (Peter Falk) a nickel Beretta Jetfire pistol, belonging to Sean Brantley (Ian Buchanan). Also Tina (Rebecca Staab) and Dian Hunter (Deidre Hall) use the same weapon. Lauren Staton (Faye Dunaway) and Lisa Martin (Claudia Christian) are seen with a suppressed nickel Beretta Jetfire in episode "It's All in the Game" (S12E01).
Jarvis Goodland (Ray Milland) in episode "The Greenhouse Jungle" (S02E02) owned a Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless pistol. Kay Freestone (Trish Van Devere) used to murder a nickel model of this pistol with pearl grips in episode "Make Me a Perfect Murder" (S07E03).
In "Double Exposure" (S03E04), Dr. Bart Kepple (Robert Culp) has a display of several handguns including an artillery model Luger P08. Kepple (Robert Culp) also uses one of the Lugers in the same episode.
Joe Devlin (Clive Revill) and Vincent Pauley (Albert Paulsen) holds in hand a suppressed Walther PPK in episode "The Conspirators" (S07E05). Vivian Dimitri (Helen Shaver) in episode "Rest in Peace, Mrs. Columbo" (S09E04) used suppressed stainless Walther PPK. A stainless Walther PPK is seen in the hands of Delores (Tyne Daly) in "A Bird in the Hand..." (S11E03).
The Great Santini (Jack Cassidy) in episode "Now You See Him " (S05E05) is seen with a suppressed Colt Detective Special revolver. Graham McVeigh (George Wendt) buys a nickel Colt Detective Special revolver with black combat grips in episode "Strange Bedfellows" (S13E01). Later, after murder he exchanged his revolver for the same gun belonging of mobster Bruno Romano (Jay Acovone).
Maj. Gen. Martin J. Hollister (Eddie Albert) owned a nickel plated Colt 1873 Single Action Army Cavalry revolver in episode "Dead Weight" (S01E03). In the series, however, only Lt. Columbo (Peter Falk) is seen with this revolver in hand.
Ward Fowler (William Shatner) in episode "Fade in to Murder" (S06E01) is seen also with a Smith & Wesson Model 15. Lt. Columbo (Peter Falk) used to demonstration of murder mechanism this revolver in episode "Columbo Goes to College" (S10E01).
Already in the episode called "Murder by Book" (S01E01), Ken Franklin (Jack Cassidy) uses the Smith & Wesson Model 36 snub revolver. Also in episode "Suitable for Framing" (S01E04) appears this revolver as murder weapon in hand Dale Kingston (Ross Martin). For the majority of the series, Lt. Columbo (Peter Falk) was not seen carrying a firearm while on duty. However, in the episode "Lady in Waiting " (S01E05) he disarm the assassin Beth Chadwick (Susan Clark), and in the episode "No Time to Die" (S11E02), what appears to be this revolver is seen in the hands of the detective. This also happens to be the revolver of choice for several other LAPD detectives.
Vincent Pauley (Albert Paulsen) carries in his briefcase also a Smith & Wesson Model 60 revolver in episode "The Conspirators" (S07E05). Fielding Chase (William Shatner) used this revolver as murder weapon in episode "Butterfly in Shades of Grey" (S12E02)).
Maj. Gen. Martin J. Hollister (Eddie Albert) in episode "Dead Weight" (S01E03) owned AKS-47 assault rifle. In episode "Columbo Cries Wolf" (S09E02) is seen this assault rifle fitted with option sight in a showcase with arms belonging to Sean Brantley (Ian Buchanan).
