Hotel Lux is a 2011 German tragicomedy film directed by Leander Haußmann. The film title refers to the eponymous hotel in Moscow, where political emigrants were quartered in the 1930s. In 1938, the actually apolitical cabaret comedian Hans Zeisig (Michael "Bully" Herbig) suddenly falls in disgrace because of an excessive Hitler parody and sees himself forced to flee to Moscow. There he descends to the Hotel Lux, the legendary haven of communist officials from all over the world. Due to a misunderstanding, he is held for the personal astrologer of Adolf Hitler, which penetrates even to Stalin. This wants to recruit him with all force. Together with his former stage partner Siggi Meyer (Jürgen Vogel) and the Dutch underground fighter Frida (Thekla Reuten), who also stayed in the Lux, Hans tries to escape the machinations.
