AKM

AKM, Stamped Steel Receiver w/ slant muzzle break 7.62x39mm

The AKM is similar to the older milled design, but differs in that the receiver is constructed entirely of hardened, stamped steel. Note the "dimples" on the sides of the receiver just above the mag-well are much smaller. Also note the 3 rivets on either side of the front, connecting the stamped reciever to the front milled trunion, and the 2 rivets at the rear connecting it to the milled rear trunion.

Film

  • Soviet soldiers and the "Wolverines" in Red Dawn

Polish AKMS, Stamped Steel Receiver w/ slant muzzle break and Underfolding Stock 7.62x39mm

Basically the same as the AKM, but the rear-trunion is altered with a swiveling mechanism to allow for the underfolding stock.
