Mikhail Ivanovich Zharov (October 27, 1899 – December 15, 1981) was a prominent Soviet actor and film director. He is best known for the roles in drama Road to Life (1931), historical movies Peter the Great (1938) and Ivan the Terrible (1942–44), and a thrilogy The Village Detective (1968-1978).
