Hostiles is a 2017 period Western starring Christian Bale as Captain Joseph Blocker, a legendary veteran of the Civil War who is ordered by the Army to escort Yellow Hawk (Wes Studi), an aging Cheyenne war chief, back to his homeland in Montana due to his terminal illness. Along the way, they take along Rosalie Quaid (Rosamund Pike), whose family was massacred by Comanches. The film was directed by Scott Cooper (Black Mass) and the cast includes Adam Beach, Jesse Plemons, and Ben Foster.
The following weapons were used in the film Hostiles:
Single Action Army "Cavalry"
The "Cavalry" model of the Single Action Army revolver appears to be the sidearm carried by Captain Joseph J. Blocker (Christian Bale).
Single Action Army "Civilian"
Several characters carry the Single Action Army revolver in the film.
Winchester 1873
Rosalie Quaid (Rosamund Pike) takes up a Winchester 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine during a confrontation.
Sharps 1859 Carbine
Several members of the US Cavalry are seen armed with Sharps 1859 carbines. Captain Joseph J. Blocker (Christian Bale) also appears to carry the carbine on his saddle. Highly anachronistic as the Sharps 1859 was phased out in 1864 and the film is set in 1892. They would more likely be using Springfield Trapdoor rifles, or Krag Jørgensen rifles.
