A Cruel Romance (original title Zhestokiy romans) is a Soviet 1984 made for TV drama movie by Eldar Ryazanov. It is based on a classic Russian play Without a Dowry (1878).

The following weapons were used in the film A Cruel Romance:

Smith & Wesson New Model No.3

During the soiree Paratov (Nikita Mikhalkov) and Semenovsky (Aleksandr Pankratov-Chyornyy) compete in marksmanship, using Semenovsky's nickel plated Smith & Wesson New Model No.3 with pearl grips (supposedly a Spanish or Belgian copy). This revolver looks like the same weapon that appears in The Sannikov Land.
