Shot in the Coffin (Russian title Vystrel v grobu, Ukrainian title Postril u truni) is a Ukrainian Russian-language 1992 action comedy directed by Nikolay Zaseev-Rudenko. A trio of seasoned criminals - Butylkin (Mikhail Pugovkin), Kovbasyuk (Yevgeny Morgunov) and Bulkin (Spartak Mishulin) - turn into legal politicans and plan to take the power. The only man who can stop them is super agent Colonel Stepan Subbota (Stepan Starchikov). But Subbota's mission is complicated by his superiors, led by Gen. Likyorov (Romualds Ancans), who want to make a secret collusion with the criminals.
The following weapons were used in the film Shot in the Coffin (Vystrel v grobu):
Pistols
PSM
In the opening scene Stepan Subbota (Stepan Starchikov) carries a PSM pistol in shoulder holster. This is the late model with wide grips. The pistol isn't seen in action.
CZ DUO
In the opening scene Stepan Subbota (Stepan Starchikov) carries an FN Model 1905 style pocket pistol in leg holster. CZ DUO seems to be a good guess. Later the same pistol is used by Stella (Svetlana Kopylova).
Tokarev TT-33
Most handguns in the movie are Tokarev TT-33 pistols. Both pre- and post-1947 versions are seen. TTs are used by Stepan Subbota (Stepan Starchikov), Stella (Svetlana Kopylova), Butylkin (Mikhail Pugovkin), Kovbasyuk (Yevgeny Morgunov), Bulkin (Spartak Mishulin), Generals Likyorov (Romualds Ancans), Chachin (Vitaliy Konyaev), Konyachkov (Vladimir Korenev), Kagorny (Igor Vasilev), Sklifosovsky (Vyacheslav Voronin), Maj. Bukhaylo (Sergei Onikiyenko), Capt. Shmurdyak (Aleksandr Ageyenkov) and numerous bodyguards.
Astra 600
What appears to be a typical Astra tubular slide pistol, most likely Astra 600, is briefly seen in hands of Gen. Sklifosovsky's bodyguard.
Submachine Guns
Haenel-Schmeisser MP28/II
When the trio of criminals in disuise ambush Gen. Sklifosovsky and his men in cafe, Bulkin (Spartak Mishulin) is armed with the Haenel-Schmeisser MP28/II. In the final scene MP28 is used by Stepan Subbota (Stepan Starchikov).
PPS-43
Stepan Subbota (Stepan Starchikov) holds a pair of PPS-43 SMGs during the encounter with the three criminals and treacherous generals. Maj. Bukhaylo (Sergei Onikiyenko) briefly holds a PPS-43 in the scene in cafe.
Sniper Rifles
Dragunov SVD
In the opening scene Subbota (Stepan Starchikov) uses the Dragunov SVD sniper rifle.
Machine Guns
Degtyaryov DT (visually modified to resemble Lewis)
A Degtyaryov DT, visually modified to resemble Lewis, is used by Kovbasyuk (Yevgeny Morgunov) during the encounter in cafe. This prop looks the same one used in Tachanka s yuga, filmed by the same studio but about 25 years earlier (the same shape of the barrel cover, different from the one, used on other fake Lewis guns, and the usage of genuine Lewis pan magazine). The machine gun doesn't fire on sceen.
