Breakheart Pass

Breakheart Pass is a 1975 Western detective directed by Tom Gries and based on same name novel by Alistair MacLean. A US Army train with medical supplies heads through snow-covered Nevada towards plagued fort. Among its passengers are Governor Fairchild, his fiance Marica, priest, doctor and U.S. Marshal Pearce, escorting long-wanted criminal John Deakin. But not all men in the train are what they seem.

Winchester Model 1892
The coffins in the train boxcar appear to be loaded with Winchester Model 1892 rifles (anachronistic for 1870s when the story is set). In the original novel the rifles are described as "brand new Winchesters, stolen from the factory"; probably Model 1873 was meant. The Winchesters from the train fall in hands of Paiutes under Chief White Hand (Eddie Little Sky ). Levi Calhoun's gang also use Winchesters.
