He worked with with Germany's Wuppertal Ballet, the Scottish Ballet and London City Ballet in the 1970s and also collaborated with famed ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev for several years. He taught Wing Chun Kung Fu in London (starting in 1980), and it was there that he was cast as "Chen", an evil henchman, in Steven Spielberg's '''[[Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom]]'''.
