Richard Hatch (1945-2017) was an American actor best known for his role as Captain Apollo in the original Battlestar Galactica. Before his role in the sci-fi series, he had appeared as Inspector Dan Robbins in one season of the series The Streets of San Francisco. He continued to appear in acting roles in television for over 4 decades, including his recurring role as Tom Zarek in Galactica's "reboot" series. He passed away at the age of 71 in February of 2017.
