The Nice Guys is a 2016 neo noir comedy co-written and directed by Shane Black. Set in 1970s Los Angeles, the film follows two down and out private detectives who together uncover a conspiracy while searching for a missing woman.
The following weapons were used in the film The Nice Guys:
Handguns
Smith & Wesson Model 36 (Nickel)
Holland March (Ryan Gosling) is seen with a nickel Smith & Wesson Model 36 revolver throughout the film.
Smith & Wesson 59
A Smith & Wesson 59 is used during a shootout.
SIG-Sauer P230
The pistol used by Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) during the house shootout appears to be a SIG-Sauer compact, possibly a SIG-Sauer P230. The P230 would be period-appropriate as it began production 2 years before the year of the film (1977).
Walther P38
A Walther P38 is the handgun used by John Boy (Matthew Bomer) during a shootout.
Walther PPK
A stainless Walther PPK is used by both Tally (Yaya DaCosta) and Jackson Healy.
Shotguns
Ithaca 37
Healy also uses an Ithaca 37.
Winchester Model 1912
Healy also is seen with a Winchester Model 1912 taken from a gunman.
Assault Rifles
AK Variant
John Boy (Matthew Bomer) takes what appears to be a AK variant from his trunk.
Submachine Guns
Sterling L2A1
John Boy (Matthew Bomer) takes what appears to be a Sterling L2A1 submachine gun with the magazines taped "jungle-style" from a trunk.
