Hacksaw Ridge is a 2016 World War II film directed by Mel Gibson and tells the true story of Desmond T. Doss (Andrew Garfield), a US Army medic who refused to carry a weapon into battle due to his religious beliefs and ended up receiving the Medal of Honor for saving the lives of 75 of his fellow soldiers. The cast also included Vince Vaughn, Sam Worthington, and Teresa Palmer.

What appears to be a M1917 Revolver is seen in a flashback, held by both a drunken Tom Doss (Hugo Weaving) and his son Desmond Doss (Andrew Garfield)

M1 Carbine

M1 Garand
M1 Garand rifles are the most common weapons in the hands of US troops. Sergeant Howell (Vince Vaughn) notably uses a Garand to kill a Japanese sniper, after which Cpl. Doss borrows the rifle to create an improvised drag stretcher.
Arisaka Type 99
Arisaka Type 99 rifles are the most commonly seen rifles in the hands of the Japanese Imperial Army. These late war rifles where known as "Last Ditch" rifles and were very crudely manufactured with most missing the accessories of the earlier models.
Arisaka Sniper Rifle
A Japanese sniper with a Arisaka sniper rifle (either Type 97 or Type 99) attempts to kill Cpl. Doss before being killed.
