Welcome to IMFDB

Before you do any editing please take the time to read the Rules, Standards and Principles. This is a very important document that explains how this website is setup as well as telling you what is and isn't allowed. If it is determined by an admin that you have not read these rules, your account will be suspended. Continued non-compliance may result in a permanent ban. After that you should also read the IMFDB Screencapping Guide and the IMFDB Style Guide to familiarize yourself with the image and formatting requirements for pages you create.

There are a number of pages that desperately need your help. You can find these Incomplete pages here.

If you have any questions, feel free to post them here but make sure to sign your post by typing --~~~~.

Finally, IMFDB has a forum set up here that is only available to registered members. There is lots of good stuff to see there. If you would like to join the forum, please post HERE and an account will be created for you.

Now, HAPPY EDITING! bunni (talk) 03:39, 17 June 2015 (EDT)

Screenshots

You don't really need the left side / right side closeups unless you're actually using them to say something. Also, you'll have an easier time thinking of captions if you try to find something to look at (which is my personal rule for taking screenshots), pose in front of, or do something with the weapon. For example, pose with the weapon to show off the right sight and then reload showing the left if you want to do that, which lets you just note "this is the left side" to segue into "behold as Nate does something silly." Then have Nate do the silly thing in front of a skeleton and say the skeleton is supervising :P Evil Tim (talk) 21:57, 7 October 2015 (EDT)

I use the different close-ups to simply show the gun. Sure, it's more fun if you have something "happening" (so to speak) in the pic, but it's also good to just have a few screenshots simply showing the gun without any other "noise" in the picture, that's how i do this atleast. I haven't gotten to Uncharted 2 yet so i could try something more entertaining there, but we'll see. It's not exaclty a rule to have a more "fun" screenshot.--AnActualAK47 (talk) 05:18, 8 October 2015 (EDT)
Eh, if there's nothing happening in the shot and nothing wrong with the model, I don't really see why there needs to be a shot of it, is all. :) Evil Tim (talk) 08:00, 8 October 2015 (EDT)
So you can see what the gun looks like in-game? Not trying to sound like an ass but how can you miss such an obvious point? I would say that simply showing the weapon, as it looks like in game, with no fluff or anything, is a good thing as it just shows how th gun looks! I'm repeting my self here but that's what happens man.--AnActualAK47 (talk) 10:08, 8 October 2015 (EDT)
Eh, I just think you can do that just as well without zooming right in on it. Also, isn't there a better shot of the AGS-17 when Eddie is talking to them after Nate has pulled Elena up? I seem to recall there's a shot with it behind them. Evil Tim (talk) 16:15, 8 October 2015 (EDT)
I've screwed around quite a bit with the photo mode and the amount of magnification you see is all you get. As for the AGS-17, can't say i recall any better angle on it, maybe i missed it :/--AnActualAK47 (talk) 16:34, 8 October 2015 (EDT)
There's a couple of closer views: here and here are pretty good shots. Evil Tim (talk) 00:45, 9 October 2015 (EDT)

Also, one thing in 3 I left off the page because I couldn't confirm it: when Charlie gets hit with the dart in Syria, it cuts to Talbot putting something into his jacket. I always thought it looked like the Pneu-Dart gun model from the second game, but I couldn't be sure. Evil Tim (talk) 02:43, 12 October 2015 (EDT)

You never really get to see what it is, but I'm fairly sure it's the Pneu from the first game. Considering it is barely seen for about half-a-second, i wouldn't recommend an entry about it.--AnActualAK47 (talk) 17:31, 12 October 2015 (EDT)
Yeah, I mean I was scrolling through a video at .1 second intervals and I still couldn't tell (too dark and not enough resolution), but if you can catch a shot of it it'd be worth including. If you can't, dont worry about it. Evil Tim (talk) 18:26, 12 October 2015 (EDT)
I might get a shot of it, we'll see...--AnActualAK47 (talk) 05:33, 13 October 2015 (EDT)

Image uploads

Just a note, you seem to be forgetting to add categories to your uploads. The correct one for screenshots is [[Category:Screenshot]], the template for that is {{SS}}. Evil Tim (talk) 17:57, 3 December 2015 (EST)

Excuse my ignorance but where do i add that template?--AnActualAK47 (talk) 17:58, 3 December 2015 (EST)
On the file upload screen, just stick it in the "summary" box. To put it on later (if you want to go back and add them) just edit the image page and put it there. Usually I also put a link to the page it's going to be on there, but you don't really have to do that. Evil Tim (talk) 17:59, 3 December 2015 (EST)
I'll remember that, thanks--AnActualAK47 (talk) 18:02, 3 December 2015 (EST)

1887 stuff

I could be wrong, but I always thought flip-cocking was the down-up method and it's spin-cocking if you turn it completely around? Evil Tim (talk) 21:30, 3 December 2015 (EST)

In a sudden turn of events, i was proven wrong and you were right all the time, like in that one movie. Now i can only hope you will forgive me :'( (what im saying is that spin-cock is right)--AnActualAK47 (talk) 21:34, 3 December 2015 (EST)

Subguns

Yeah, I put those on the page, they look like a horribly mangled Spectre M4 (I originally thought Beretta M12, but the Spectre is closer with the foregrip and "Prizmak" does mean "ghost" in Czech) with the back end and trigger guard of a Remington 870 for some reason. Evil Tim (talk) 23:39, 4 December 2015 (EST)

yeah they sure are pretty weird and ugly. Anyway, thanks for adding that stuffz to the page.--AnActualAK47 (talk) 00:08, 5 December 2015 (EST)

Archangel

If you look closely at the second image you uploaded, the bolt cutout is long like the one on the Model 98 Bravo, whereas with the Ballista it's a lot shorter. That was the only reason I kept it to start with, because I thought it was shorter; all the features it shares with the Ballista are also on either the 98 Bravo or the AS50 and it has more features from both of those (eg exact same handguard as the 98B, exact same barrel as the AS50), so I think it looking a bit like one is just a coincidence.

I think it must have been a glitch of some kind since synching an animation is pretty easy; you can just join Rico's hand to the bolt while you're making it and move only the bolt, so it should have worked out unless the character modellers and weapon modellers weren't on speaking terms, or they were having some trouble making the weapon models, had to use a generic one, and then the finished models were the wrong shape. Given how many physics things the game does, though, my money's on it causing some type of glitch when the bolt handle touched Rico's hand or it not coming to rest on the ground because the bolt object would be pushed into contact with the gun object and launch it into the air or something. Evil Tim (talk) 07:50, 7 December 2015 (EST)

Could be, also considering how many different ways Rico pulls the bolt (there is a different animation for cycling it when parachuting, hanging from a wall etc) that could have been a factor in it to.--AnActualAK47 (talk) 08:07, 7 December 2015 (EST)

Deletions

If you want a file deleted, just edit the file and put a {{nuke}} tag on it. One of the admins will get to it eventually. --Funkychinaman (talk) 17:54, 2 August 2016 (EDT)

But we won't delete anything that's still in use. That image is still on the Payday 2 page. --Funkychinaman (talk) 19:35, 2 August 2016 (EDT)
The image is a dup, why have two of the same picture, the exact same picture?--AnActualAK47 (talk) 12:57, 3 August 2016 (EDT)
I agree with you, but in this case, that particular image was still being used on the Payday 2 page. Scroll to the bottom and look under "The following page links to this file:". --Funkychinaman (talk) 13:10, 3 August 2016 (EDT)
Well in that case just delete the one that isn't in use.--AnActualAK47 (talk) 14:20, 3 August 2016 (EDT)
Tag it, and I'll delete it. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:32, 3 August 2016 (EDT)

It is tagged as far as i can tell.--AnActualAK47 (talk) 15:43, 3 August 2016 (EDT)

The only tagged file is still in use on a page. If you want it to be deleted, remove it from the Payday 2 page. --Funkychinaman (talk) 16:02, 3 August 2016 (EDT)
I checked both files and both of them has the nuke tag. Do i need to remove the file from the page and reupload it?--AnActualAK47 (talk) 16:03, 3 August 2016 (EDT)
There are only four files with nuke tags, including the MAC-11. If that's the file you want to delete, remove it from the Payday 2 page, or find the actual duplicate file. --Funkychinaman (talk) 16:56, 3 August 2016 (EDT)

The plot thickens.--AnActualAK47 (talk) 18:07, 3 August 2016 (EDT)

Reused Reload Animation from Warfighter in BF4

You removed some reuse reload animation from Warfighter in BF4 page. But Warfighter actually have a "alternate reload animation" feature, which AR15, SCAR, M14, AUG have alternate reload animation depending on Player character's faction.
Such as AR15 and SCAR's empty reload, some forces slap the bolt release, while the other forces gently push the bolt release.

In the M14's empty reload, some forces flip the M14 and pulling the charging handle with the left hand (Normal M14 empty reload, Which partially reuses for Bulldog's empty reload), while the other forces pulling the charging handle with the underhand (Alternate M14 empty reload, Which partially reuses for AS VAL's empty reload). The RPK's empty reload are partially reuses AK-103's "High Power Ammunition" loading animation, which reuse pulling the charging handle with the underhand.

Please take a look at these movies. ttps://youtu.be/DNu5P-EJ5C4?t=9m18s (Normal M14 empty reload) ttps://youtu.be/fhIU5yMx9MM?t=3m26s (Alternate M14 empty reload) ttps://youtu.be/j9a9PuKIxys?t=10m25s (AK-103's "High Power Ammunition" loading animation) --Seganamcofan (talk) 15:12, 6 August 2016 (EDT).

I did not actually know this! Thanks for the help.--AnActualAK47 (talk) 15:14, 6 August 2016 (EDT)
Yeah, Me too. I recently found this feature (Sadly, I didn't have Warfighter, so which forces uses "Normal" or "Alternate" reloads are unknown...). Can I bring back removed lines? --Seganamcofan (talk) 15:29, 6 August 2016 (EDT).
You can undo edits if you check the history for the page.--AnActualAK47 (talk) 17:16, 6 August 2016 (EDT)
I undo the removed lines.--Seganamcofan (talk) 18:07, 6 August 2016 (EDT)
