The New Centurions is a 1972 crime drama movie directed by Richard Fleischer and based on the novel by Joseph Wambaugh, LAPD veteran turned crime novelist. It depicts the dramatic life of rookie LAPD officer Roy Fehler (Stacy Keach) and his veteran partner Andy Kilvinski (George C. Scott).

Revolvers
Smith & Wesson Model 10
Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolvers are service sidearms of LAPD officers. They are also seen in hands of various criminals.
Smith & Wesson Model 15
During the training in police academy the cadets use Smith & Wesson Model 15 revolvers.
Unidentified revolver
In one scene a criminal uses a revolver that has a shrouded ejector rod and duty sights. It is seen only in darkness.
Shotguns
Ithaca 37
Ithaca 37 shotguns are seen in hands of several LAPD officers, including Whitey Duncan (Clifton James), Galloway (Ed Lauter) and Ken Johnson (William Atherton).
Sawed-off Double Barreled Shotgun
In one scene Roy Fehler is shot by a criminal, wielding a Sawed-off Double Barrel Shotgun.

During the ceremony of graduation for police academy the honor guards carry M1 Garand rifles.
