Mountains on Fire is a 1931 French-German film by Karl Hartl and Luis Trenker based on the novel of the same year of himself. In this movie, Trenker processed personal experiences from the First World War, when he was fighting on the Alpine Front 1915-1918. The Austrian mountain guide Florian Dimai and the Italian count Arthur Franchini have a long-standing friendship.
