The Bren Mk I light machine guns are also used by the Federation of Malaya Police, MCP guerrillas and the Police Jungle Squad. After ammo ran out, one of the police officers dismantled the Bren by throwing away the magazine, barrel and firing pin to prevent its use by MCP forces.
