Hornets' Nest is a 1970 World War II thriller that stars Rock Hudson as a wounded American officer who is enlisted by a group of Italian children to help them get revenge against the SS for the massacre of their hometown.
The following weapons were used in the film Hornets' Nest:
Handguns
Luger P08
Captain von Hecht (Sergio Fantoni) carries a Luger P08 as his personal sidearm, which he uses to kill the cruel SS officer Major Taussig. Aldo (Mark Colleano) also uses one at the end of the film.
Vis wz. 35 Radom pistol
Captain Turner (Rock Hudson) has a suppressed Vis wz. 35 pistol as his primary sidearm.
Walther P38
Gunther (Hardy Stuart) is seen with a Walther P38 briefly. Schwalberg (Giacomo Rossi-Stuart) also carries one in a holster in some scenes.
Submachine Guns
MP40
The MP40 is used frequently throughout the film by many characters.
Beretta Model 38
The Italian Partisans are armed with Beretta Model 38's.
M3 "Grease Gun"
Although seen only fleetingly, the US paratroopers led by Captain Turner (Rock Hudson) are armed with M3 "Grease Guns." After the Americans are killed, the Germans collect their guns.
Rifles
Mauser Karabiner 98k
Some of the Germans as well as the Italian partisans use Mauser Karabiner 98k's.
Karabinek wz. 1929
Some German soldiers are seen with WZ29 Polish Mauser rifles.
Double Barreled Shotgun
This Double Barreled Shotgun originally belonged to Captain von Hecht, but Aldo (Mark Colleano) stole it from his office. It is carried around by him and sometimes his second in command Dino (John Fordyce), but never fired.
Machine Guns
MG42
The MG42 machine gun is seen a few times in the film, notably by Captain Turner (Rock Hudson) to shoot a Kübelwagen, and later by Aldo (Mark Colleano) at the dam.
Hotchkiss M1914 Machine Gun
A Hotchkiss M1914 Machine Gun with a fake elongated barrel and belt-fed ammunition is seen in a machine gun nest near the dam. Turner kills the men manning it. It's used as an anchor for a rope so he and the boys can climb down the cliff and into the water.
