Bouquet got numerous cinema awards, including the Best Actor European Film Award (1991), two Best Actor Cesars (2001 and 2005) and two Molière Awards for Best Actor (1998 and 2005). He received the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor in 2018.

Michel Bouquet (November 6, 1925 – April 13, 2022) was a well known French stage and screen actor. He appeared in more than 100 films from 1947 to 2020. Among his best known roles are Pierre Rambal-Cochet in the 1976 comedy Le Jouet by Francis Veber, and Javert in Robert Hossein's adaptation of Les Miserables (1982). Bouquet got numerous cinema awards, including the Best Actor European Film Award (1991), two Best Actor Cesars (2001 and 2005) and two Molière Awards for Best Actor (1998 and 2005).
