Exterminator 2 is a 1984 sequel to The Exterminator (1980) directed by Mark Buntzman. John Eastland (Robert Ginty) continues his vigilante practice, now by using a flamethrower. His primary enemy is X (Mario Van Peebles), a ruthless and ambitious leader of gang of street thugs who plans to take full control on the night city.
The following weapons were used in the film Exterminator 2:
In the opening scene Spider (Reggie Rock Bythewood) carries a nickel plated snub nose revolver. A 6-shot cylinder and the general shape allows to identify it as a Colt Detective Special.
Smith & Wesson Model 10
In one scene John Eastland (Robert Ginty) and Be Gee (Frankie Faison) capture a thug and takes his revolver that appears to be a Smith & Wesson Model 10. S&W Model 10 revolvers are also carried by various minor characters.
Smith & Wesson Model 28
In the opening scene one of the thugs is armed with a revolver that appears to be a large frame Smith & Wesson, most likely a Smith & Wesson Model 28.
Pistols
M1911A1
In the opening scene one of the thugs is armed with an M1911A1-style pistol.
Submachine Guns
Uzi
An Uzi is X's (Mario Van Peebles) favoured weapon. Some of his men also use Uzi SMGs. In one scene Be Gee's (Frankie Faison) loads an Uzi but later it switches to a MAC-10.
MAC-10 (fitted with a barrel extention)
When Eastland and Be Gee interrupt a deal between X and mafia, Be Gee's (Frankie Faison) Uzi switches to a MAC-10, fitted with a barrel extention. While the extention looks similar to sound suppressor, it doesn't affect the sound of firing.
Smith & Wesson 76
In the final scene one of X's thugs is armed with a Smith & Wesson 76.
Shotguns
SPAS-12
A SPAS-12 is carried by one of X's thugs in the scene of the drug deal.
Double Barreled Shotgun
In the opening scene a thug nicknamed Red Rat (Bruce Smolanoff) is armed with a double barreled shotgun with a pistol grip. During the heist of the armoured car one of X's thugs is armed with a double barreled shotgun with a standard buttstock.
In the final scene one of X's thugs is armed with a Ruger Mini-14. A Mini-14 is also briefly seen in hands of John Eastland (Robert Ginty) when he readies for the final fight.
Assault Rifles
M16 (SP1)
Numerous M16-type rifles are used by X's thugs in several scenes. These appear to be M16 (SP1) rifles with slab-side receivers. The rifle is also seen in hands of John Eastland (Robert Ginty) but he doesn't use this weapon in action.
AK-47
Several AK-47s of unclear version are seen in X's den. They aren't used in action.
Machine Guns
M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle
A remotely controlled BAR M1918 is one of two machine guns that John Eastland mounts on the garbage truck that he uses in the last battle against X.
Browning M1917
Another machine gun, mounted on the garbage truck, appears to be a Browning M1917, fitted with a perforated barrel cover (supposedly a custom one).
M60
An M60 machine gun is seen in X's den. It isn't used in action.
Other Weapons
Custom M2A1 Flamethrower
John Eastland's signature weapon is a custom flamethrower based on an M2A1. This flamethrower appears to be the same one used in the 1983 film Deal of the Century. All scenes with the flamethrower were added in the movie when it was re-edited and re-shot by "film doctor" William Sachs. Robert Ginty didn't appear in these scenes and was replaced by a stuntman.
An M72 LAW rocket launcher is used by X's thugs to stop an armoured car. In the final scene a LAW is used against Eastland's garbage truck but it appears to be a hard target, no less than a battle tank.
Unidentified flare pistol
During the heist of the armoured car one of X's thugs uses a flare pistol to down a police helicopter. The flare pistol is shown here as a high potent weapon, successfully replacing a portable SAM.
