US Marshal Mark Jessup ([[Holt McCallany]]) is seen with a [[M1911A1]]-type pistol that has bin modified with combat sights, extended magazine well, and customized 1911 skeletal hammer. Of particular note in the film was when Jessup arrives to assist Hathaway and Lein when they are ambushed by Kassar and his men. During the course of the scene Jessup was able to place well aimed single-shots taking out five of Kassar's men before being gunned down in the street. This showed Jessup's extensive degree of skill and focus in pistol marksmanship while under a high stress environment. In can be inferred from his choice of service weapon and degree in skill that Jessup may have bin a member of the US Marshal Service's elite Special Operations Group (SOG) Teams. SOG is a part-time SWAT unit that is comprised of full time Deputy Marshals spread throughout the different Marshal Field Offices who are on constant stand by to drop whatever cases they are currently in to assemble and deploy for various emergency situations requiring SOG.
