Virtuosity is a 1995 sci-fi action thriller about a virtual reality serial killer named SID 6.7 (Russell Crowe, in one of his first starring roles in an American film) who escapes into a then-futuristic world of 1999 Los Angeles after his software module is uploaded into a regenerative android. To stop him, the Los Angeles Police Department releases Parker Barnes (Denzel Washington), a former homicide detective who was imprisoned following a botched rescue attempt and who had been used as a test case to confront the killer program in virtual reality. The detective soon learns that his new nemesis contains the personality traits and memories of many infamous murderers, including a political terrorist responsible for the death of his wife and daughter. In addition to starring Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe (who would later star together again in American Gangster), the film also is notable for featuring the film acting debut of Kaley Cuoco, who is now better known for playing Penny in The Big Bang Theory.
The following weapons were used in the film Virtuosity:

Handguns
SIG-Sauer P228 (Modified)
A two-tone SIG-Sauer P228 fitted with a Wilcox Industries UITC "Nightstalker" IR/laser sight is the main handgun used by LAPD officer Parker Barnes (Denzel Washington) in the movie. The P228 used in this film was one of four identical guns built for the production by Ellis Props & Graphics. These custom pistols would later be seen in several other films, including Ghosts of Mars, Money Talks, and Barb Wire.
Glock 19
After killing two LAPD officers dispatched to the home of one of his victims, SID 6.7 (Russell Crowe) carries a Glock 19 taken from one of the officers as his main weapon throughout the movie. It is used when he confronts Barnes in the Media Zone club and at the television station.
Heckler & Koch USP
SID 6.7 (Russell Crowe) is seen using a Heckler & Koch USP during the film's opening shootout in the virtual Japanese restaurant. It also appears that the USP is the standard-issue to the LETAC security officers; Parker (Denzel Washington) takes another USP from a guard when he escapes transport and uses it as his sidearm for the second half of the movie. Along with Clear and Present Danger, Terminal Velocity, Heat and the TV show SeaQuest DSV, Virtuosity was one of the earliest Hollywood productions to feature the USP, which was a new handgun on the American firearms market in 1993 (the movie was filmed in 1994).
Beretta 93R
Parker Barnes (Denzel Washington) and John Donovan (Costas Mandylor) are seen using Beretta 93Rs with wood grips during the film's opening shootout in the virtual Japanese restaurant.
Beretta 92FS
A Beretta 92FS is used by Barnes during the flashback when he is seen trying to rescue his wife and daughter. Berettas are also carried by most of the police officers in the film.
SIG-Sauer P230
Madison Carter (Kelly Lynch) is seen putting a SIG-Sauer P230 in her purse.
Charter Arms Bulldog
Madison Carter (Kelly Lynch) is also seen taking what appears to be a Charter Arms Bulldog from William Cochran (William Forsythe) after he is knocked out.
Submachine Guns
Cobray M11/9
SID 6.7 also uses a Cobray M11/9 during the shootout in the virtual Japanese restaurant.
Calico M950
Another weapon SID 6.7 uses during the shootout in the virtual Japanese restaurant is a Calico M950. Judging by the lack of a flash hider and forward vertical grip, this is a semi-auto M950 pistol that has been converted to full-auto.
Skorpion SA Vz 61
In a flashback, terrorists are seen armed with the Skorpion SA Vz 61 when holding Parker's wife and daughter hostage. Parker is later seen using it.
Heckler & Koch MP5A2
Several SWAT officers including the SWAT captain use Heckler & Koch MP5A2's equipped with Surefire dedicated forend weaponlights. Another SWAT officer is seen opening fire on Barnes from a helicopter with MP5A2 fitted with a scope but no Surefire grip.
Walther MPL
SWAT officers are seen opening fire on Barnes with Walther MPL submachine guns.
Walther MPK
At least one of the SWAT officers uses a Walther MPK instead of the MPLs used by the others.
Mini Uzi
One of the terrorists Parker takes out in the flashback is seen with a Mini Uzi.
Assault Rifles
XM177
A terrorist is armed with an XM177, which he fires at Barnes before Barnes kills him with his Beretta 92FS.
FN FNC
In TV news footage, a civilian is seen holding an FN FNC in a gun store.
Shotguns
Franchi SPAS-12
When Barnes chases SID 6.7 after the club shootout, he asks Madison to pull out his "crowd pleaser" which is a Franchi SPAS-12 shotgun. Notice that in the movie, the SPAS-12 is fired on semi-automatic mode. In most movies prior to Virtuosity, it is customary to see SPAS-12s being fired only in pump-action, because the gas system of the weapon was notoriously unreliable with motion picture blank cartridges. Armorer Steve Karnes at Ellis Props & Graphics set up three SPAS-12s to fire semi-auto in accordance with the script.
Mossberg 500 Mariner
When SID 6.7 is confronted by a guard at the Ka-Pow tournament, the guard points a Mossberg 500 Mariner fitted with a pistol grip and a cut-down barrel at him. After SID 6.7 sticks his hand on the barrel, the guard blows his hand off (to no effect, since SID 6.7 is a regenerative android). This is most likely the exact same Mossberg that was used by Dennis Hopper in Speed, since Ellis Props & Graphics supplied the weapons for both Speed and this movie.
Ithaca 37
Ithaca 37 shotguns are seen in the hands of various security guards throughout the movie.
