He made appearance in more than 150 films, including eleven directed by Ingmar Bergman. Von Sydow has been nominated for two Academy Awards: Best Actor in 1989 for Pelle the Conqueror, and Best Supporting Actor in 2012 for Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close.
