Vengeance (Chinese title:復仇 / Fuk sau) is a 2009 film directed by Johnnie To about a French chef (Johnny Hallyday) who arrives in Macau to avenge the deaths of his daughter's family with the help of three hitmen. Along with The Mission (1999) and Exiled (2006), Vengeance forms an informal trilogy of films directed by Johnnie To which feature similar settings (Macau), themes (brotherhood and fatalism) and motifs (long, drawn out shootouts).
The following weapons were used in the film Vengeance:
Warning: Multiple spoilers Ahead!
Handguns
Colt Double Eagle
Costello (Johnny Hallyday) is given a Colt Double Eagle by Kwai (Anthony Wong) when he says he needs a gun himself. He uses this as his main sidearm throughout the film. Kwai writes the name of the man Costello seeking vengeance against on the slide: George Fung (Simon Yam), a powerful crime boss.
SIG-Sauer P226
A SIG-Sauer P226 is by Kwai (Anthony Wong) throughout the film, most notably during the apartment escape and to kill the three assassins at an underground clinic.
Heckler & Koch USP
Kwai (Anthony Wong) also appears to carry a Heckler & Koch USP along with his P226, as he uses the USP in some of the shootout scenes. Chu also practices with a USP, which turns into a Browning Hi-Power due to a continuity error.
Glock 17
Glock 17s are used by both Chu (Gordon Lam Ka-tung) and Fat Lok (Lam Suet) in several of the shootouts. Two of these are also used during the shootout in the landfill. Costello's daughter uses Glock 17 to briefly defend herself and her children from the assassins at the beginning of the film.
Beretta 92FS
Kwai, Chu and Fat all use suppressed Beretta 92FS pistols during a hit at a hotel. Most of George Fung's men also use the Beretta, as does Fung himself in the finale.
Colt M1911A1
During Costello's dinner with the three killers, Costello and Chu compete to see who can reassemble a M1911A1 pistol first while blindfolded. One of the assassins also uses a M1911A1 during the forest shootout.
Desert Eagle
One of the three assassins who killed Costello's family uses a Desert Eagle during a shootout in the forest.
Smith & Wesson Model 686
Another one of the assassins uses a Smith & Wesson Model 686 during the forest shootout.
Browning Hi-Power
Chu fires a Browning Hi-Power during target practice at the landfill.
Shotguns
Remington 870
A Remington 870 shotgun with a folding stock is used by one of the assassins in the beginning of the film to kill Costello's daughter's family.
Rossi Overland Sawed Off Shotgun
One of the assassins uses a Rossi Overland Sawed Off Shotgun in the opening hit, mainly to shoot through the front door, killing Costello's son in law. Fat Lok refers to it as a "Mad Max gun."
Rifles
Steyr AUG
A Steyr AUG is used by Kwai (Anthony Wong) in his final stand against George Fung's men during the landfill shootout.
Bushmaster M17S
A Bushmaster M17S is used by Chu as he and the others make their final stand against George Fung's men at the landfill.
AK-47
A Polytech Legend AK-47 is used by Fat Lok during the landfill shootout.
Unidentified Sniper Rifle
George Fung (Simon Yam) uses a scoped bolt action rifle with a thumbhole stock to shoot at the protagonists during the landfill shootout.
