NBC originally ordered a new season of six episodes for Southland, but the network canceled the series before a single new episode aired. These episodes were subsequently picked up by and aired as Season 2 on the TNT Network.
The following weapons can be seen in the series Southland:
Handguns
Beretta 92FS
Several LAPD officers and detectives carry the Beretta 92FS as their sidearm, including Detective Sammy Bryant (Shawn Hatosy), Detective Daniel "Sal" Salinger (Michael McGrady), Detective Nate Moretta (Kevin Alejandro), Officer Bill "Dewey" Dudek (C. Thomas Howell), Detective Russell Clarke (Tom Everett Scott), and a number of other officers. This weapon is on the LAPD approved carry list. In Season 2's premiere "Phase Three" (S2E01), Officer Chickie Brown's partner Ferguson pulls his Beretta during a confrontation with a confused driver. One of the Latino hitmen in the first few episodes of Season 2 also uses a Beretta.
Glock 22
Officer Ben Sherman (Ben McKenzie) carries a Glock 22 as his sidearm. Officer Chickie Brown (Arija Bareikis) also uses a Glock 22 as her sidearm, although her weapon is fitted with a Surefire X-300 tactical light. Detective Ray Suarez (Clifton Collins, Jr.) can also be seen using a Glock 22 in "The Runner" (S2E04).
Colt New Service
In the opening credits of each episode, a police officer holding what appears to be a Colt New Service is the first photo seen.
Raven Arms MP-25
A Raven Arms MP-25 compact pistol is seen in the opening credits of each episode.
Sphinx AT380
A gang member is seen throwing a Sphinx AT380 Pistol into the MacArthur Park lake in "Butch and Sundance" (S2E02).
Smith & Wesson 5906
Officer John Cooper (Michael Cudlitz) carries a Smith & Wesson 5906 (as evidenced by its double stack frame) as his duty sidearm. This weapon is on the LAPD approved carry list.
Smith & Wesson 3913
Detective Adams (Regina King) uses a Smith & Wesson 3913 as her duty gun.
Smith & Wesson 6906
Officer Chickie Brown (Arija Bareikis) uses an early model Smith & Wesson 6906 (notice low, non-novak rear sights, as well as the "hooked" trigger guard) as her off-duty gun, which she notably uses to arrest the Canyon Rapist in "Maximum Deployment" (S2E06).
Smith & Wesson 61 Escort
In "U-Boat" (S2E03), Chickie misses a Smith & Wesson 61 Escort in a street thug's ankle holster. Cooper finds it during a more thorough pat-down.
Smith & Wesson Model 60
In "U-Boat" (S2E03), Chickie and John arrest a man on the street for possession of a concealed handgun and a Smith & Wesson Model 60 is one of the handguns Chickie confiscates from the suspect.
Smith & Wesson Model 15
The grieving father carries a Smith & Wesson Model 15 when he goes to kill his daughter's murderer. Detectives Adams and Suarez confiscate it from him when he is arrested in "The Runner" (S2E04).
Desert Eagle Mark XIX
A gold-plated Desert Eagle Mark XIX can be seen on the bed in the house of some Latino hitmen in "What Makes Sammy Run?" (S2E05).
Colt M1911A1
Detective Sammy Bryant (Shawn Hatosy) confiscates a Colt M1911A1 from a teenager in "What Makes Sammy Run?" (S2E05). A cartel hitman uses a gold plated M1911A1 in "Phase Three" (S2E01) which is seen again (along with another identical 1911) in "What Makes Sammy Run?" (S2E05).
Makarov PM
In "The Runner" (S2E04), a murder suspect keeps a Makarov PM pistol in his baby brother's stroller. He tosses the gun while being chased by Sammy and Nate, and the gun discharges when it hits the ground.
Kimber Custom TLE II
SWAT officers in "What Makes Sammy Run?" (S2E05) carry what appear to be Kimber Custom TLE II pistols (the sidearm of all LAPD SWAT officers) in their holsters.
Browning Hi-Power
One of the Latino hitmen's guns is a gold plated Browning Hi-Power. Ben and John find it along with other gold plated weapons in "What Makes Sammy Run?" (S2E05).
Shotguns
Remington 870
Several LAPD officers are seen using Remington 870 shotguns, the standard issue shotgun for the department. They are often seen in the shotgun racks of the police cars.
Winchester Model 1300 "Defender"
Detective Adams keeps a Winchester Model 1300 "Defender" in a safe in her home. In "U-Boat", she has a nightmare about defending her home with the shotgun as seen in Season 1's "Derailed", but with a different result.
Benelli M1 Super 90
A SWAT officer is seen with a Benelli M1 Super 90 in "What Makes Sammy Run?" (S2E05).
Assault Rifles
M4A1 Carbine

Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A2
Several SWAT officers carry Heckler & Koch MP5A2s fitted with Surefire dedicated forend weaponlights in Season 2's "What Makes Sammy Run?" (S2E05)..
