Above the Law is the 1988 action movie that launched Steven Seagal's movie career. In the film, Seagal stars as Nico Toscani, a Chicago cop with a CIA past and family in the Mafia who investigates the assassination of a local priest that may be part of a government conspiracy. The film (which was also released under the title Nico) was directed by Andrew Davis, who would also direct Seagal in Under Siege.

After he returns home to get his wife and child out of the house, Toscani retrieves a bag containing several weapons, including a Colt Commander Mk IV. During the shootout in the meatpacking district, his Government changes several times to a Commander.

Toscani uses a Beretta 92SB as he and Detective Lukich go to rescue the priest.

Toscani holds a Beretta 87 Cheetah when he confronts FBI Special Agent Neeley.
Heckler & Koch P9S
The Heckler & Koch P9S is the pistol carried by Nelson Fox (Chelcie Ross) when he reunites with Toscani later in the film. Fox hands off his P9 to Toscani.

When thugs shoot up his car with automatic weapons, Toscani draws his SIG-Sauer P220 on the men.

Toscani keeps a Mossberg 590 Cruiser with extended magazine tube and heat shield in his arsenal of weapons at home. He is seen handing it off to Det. Lukich. Zagon uses a standard-stock Mossberg 590, also with extended mag-tube and heat shield, in the apartment shootout during a shootout with Toscani's partner Delores "Jacks" Jackson (Pam Grier).

One of the men sent to kill Toscani uses a Mossberg 500 Bullpup to shoot up the car.
