It is the Year 2016, Japan has suffered a catastrophic nuclear meltdown from the Odaiba nuclear power plant that contaminates Tokyo, making it the largest ghost city in the world. The high levels of radiation bars anyone from entering the contaminated zone. In an effort to search for any potential survivors, the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force dispatches a team code named: "Coppelion"', consisting of three teenage girls: Ibara Naruse, Aoi Fukasaku, and Taeko Nomura. The Coppelions, led by Colonel Onihei Mishima, are genetically engineered human who are immune to the radiation and with their own sets of special skills (like able to get along with animals). The series cover the Coppelion's journey through the devastated capital of Japan to search for survivors.
The following weapons were used in the anime series Coppelion:
Ibara Naruse uses a Luger P08 Marine model as her main weapon. It has been modified into a dart gun. When firing Ether (a medicine used to prevent radiation infection), it sounds like a dart gun, but shooting anything else like tranquilizers or smoke bombs (yes that's right, smoke bombs) produces a sound like an actual gun.
