In the movie The Hunting Party (a western from 1971) starring Gene Hackman, Oliver Reed and Candace Bergen, Hackman has four sporterized versions of the Martini-Henry, each with a telescopic sight. Hackman claims to his friends on a train/whorehouse that they can shoot accurately to 800 yards, and they use them to hunt down that band of bandits that have kidnapped Hackman's wife, played by Bergen, and the leader of the band she falls in love with is Oliver Reed.
