Hello. I think this is the right place. I'm new here. Need a forum account please.
Please create a forum account for me, thanks! --bunni (talk) 16:22, 28 April 2014 (EDT)

Read all the rules several times over. Need to ask a few questions and then ready to get started.

Hello again. I haven't heard from anyone for forum access. I wanted to make a State of Decay page as the game has tons of firearms in it with off-names. I need help with the simplest way to capture the screens. I know photos of TV's aren't acceptable and I'm okay with that I just need to understand how people are doing it. Want to contribute. Thought the forum would be the best place to clear all of the editing and stuff to make sure the page looks proficient on the first try.
Please let me know.

:If you're playing the game on a laptop, the simplest way to get screencaps is as follows: (1) pause the game at an appropriate moment, (2) make a screencap by pressing <shift> and <prt sc> at the same time, (3) copy to Paint and cut-off black edges and finally (4) save in JPG format. If you're using a console I am afraid I can't help you, PeeWee055 (talk) 05:56, 1 July 2013 (EDT)
::Well, State of Decay is only available for the X360 at the moment, so he's gonna need a capture card to get screencaps. - bozitojugg3rn4ut (talk) 11:10, 1 July 2013 (EDT)
:::Ah, thank you so much. Do you guys all have some options of capture cards you can recommmend? Also, any chance of posting on the forums since that'd be a little easier? Do you guys even want a SoD page? Please let me know. --WaterPaladin (talk) 21:56, 3 July 2013 (EDT)
::::Any well made page for any piece of eligible media is welcome. --Funkychinaman (talk) 23:19, 3 July 2013 (EDT)
:::::There are plenty of available capture cards and external units available. Unfortunately, most are priced rather high, especially when purchased just for screencaps of a single game. At about $150 (All prices are USD) you have the Roxio Game Capture HD PRO & Hauppauge Collossus HD; at about $200 you have the Black Magic Intensity Pro, and at about $225 you have the Hauppauge HD PVR. I'd ignore the series 2 HD PVR's, everything I've heard about them is negative. They are cheaper however, so if you are willing to throw away money you should check reviews for yourself, I may have heard from trolls. There are plenty of under $100 capture cards/units, but I have yet to learn of one that is HD or worth buying. And while not mandatory AFAIK, HD is highly recommended.--Crazycrankle (talk) 03:16, 4 July 2013 (EDT)
