The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is a 1948 adventure film starring Humphrey Bogart as Fred Dobbs, a desperate worker who embarks on a dangerous quest for gold in the Sierra Madre mountains of Mexico. The film was written and directed by John Huston, who adapted the feature from the 1927 B. Traven novel of the same name.

All three treasure hunters that travel to the Sierra Madre mountain range, Dobbs (Humphrey Bogart), Curtin (Tim Holt) and Howard (Walter Huston), carry Colt Official Police revolvers which they notably use them to fight off the Mexican bandits outside the train and at their camp site. Cody (Bruce Bennett) also carries one when he comes to the camp site. It is assumed to be taken by Dobbs after that.
