== | ==Futuristic Pistol==
A custom futuristic pistol is used by the main character of the series, Joshua Nolan ([[Grant Bowler]]). The weapon is based on a Beretta pistol, with cases being ejected when it is fired and the back portion of the weapon moving back and forth due to a slide moving underneath. It also appears to have two barrels, but the purpose of this is unknown. As the whole weapon is covered with a futuristic shell, it is not possible to identify what the real world weapon underneath is. Also of note is that in-universe, it's listed as an example of [http://www.defiance.com/en/series/world-of-2046/technology/potech Po'Tech], "old Earth technology that’s been cobbled together or jury rigged," making it a homebrew weapon.

The following weapons were used in Season 1 of the television series Defiance:
Handguns
Futuristic Pistol
A custom futuristic pistol is used by the main character of the series, Joshua Nolan (Grant Bowler). Also of note is that in-universe, it's listed as an example of Po'Tech, "old Earth technology that’s been cobbled together or jury rigged," making it a homebrew weapon.
Beretta 92FS
Sukar (Noah Danby), leader of the Irathient Spirit Riders, uses a Beretta 92FS whilst robbing Nolan and Irisa in the pilot episode (S01E01).
Glock 17
During the confrontation in the Need/Want in the pilot episode (S01E01) one of McCawley's men draws a Glock 17.
SIG-Sauer P226R
During the confrontation in the Need/Want in the pilot episode (S01E01) Rafe McCawley (Graham Greene) has a SIG-Sauer P226R.
Colt MK IV Series 80 Enhanced

Smith & Wesson Model 686
Rafe McCawley (Graham Greene) uses a Smith & Wesson Model 686 with a 4 inch barrel in the "Down in the Ground Where the Dead Men Go" (S01E02) and continues to use it for the rest of the season.
Smith & Wesson 5946
Rynn (Kaniehtiio Horn) uses a Smith & Wesson 5946 in "The Devil in the Dark" (S01E03).
SIG-Sauer P220 Sport
Irisa Nyira (Stephanie Leonidas) carries a SIG-Sauer P220 Sport as her main sidearm.
Unidentified M1911 Variant
An unidentifed (possibly custom) M1911 with vertical slide serrations, skeleton hammer, three hole trigger and an ambidextrous safety appears in several episodes.
SIG-Sauer P230
Olfin Tennety (Jane McLean) carries a SIG-Sauer P230 with some kind of after-market silver finish in "The Serpent's Egg" (S01E05). Datak Tarr (Tony Curran) also uses a P230 in "Brothers in Arms" (S01E06).
Webley Mk 1 Air Pistol
A post-war slant grip Webley Mk 1 Air Pistol (which is portrayed as a tranquilliser pistol) is used by the bounty hunter Eddie Braddock (Rob Stewart) in "Brothers in Arms" (S01E06).
SIG-Sauer P226
The bounty hunter Eddie Braddock (Rob Stewart) carries a pair of unrailed SIG-Sauer P226s in "Brothers in Arms" (S01E06). Tommy (Dewshane Williams) can also be seen with a P226 as his sidearm.

The bounty hunter Eddie Braddock (Rob Stewart) carries a Glock 26 as his back up gun in "Brothers in Arms" (S01E06), which he relinquishes to Joshua Nolan (Grant Bowler) to comply with Defiance law.
Walther P99
An unidentified Walther P99 variant is procured by Eddie Braddock (Rob Stewart) after his own weapons are confiscated in "Brothers in Arms" (S01E06) and is used for the rest of the episode. The weapon appears to combine a pre-2004 model .40 S&W titanium coated slide with a post-2004 model frame (early model with short magazine release).
