During a patrol back in the Vietnam War David Miller (John Schneider) uses a Colt M1911A1 to clear out a VC rat tunnel. A poster showing a nickel one with pearl grips is seen in Col. Freeman's (James Tolkan) office.

Col. Freeman (James Tolkan) keeps a Colt Police Positive as a sidearm which he later gives to David Miller (John Schneider).
