In episode 2 ("Guns, Strippers and Wives"), Jimmy Boyd (Gregg Henry) is briefly seen putting a Smith & Wesson 4506 to the head of Ty. The particular 4506 used in this episode is the exact same one used by Keanu Reeves in the 2008 film Street Kings (same armorer, same prop). A pair of snake eyes dice with "Vice Special" is printed on the right side of the slide between the ejection port and the muzzle. The same prop is also re-used in episode "August" (S01E05), as Dante Rollings' (Gbenga Akennagbe) sidearm. Shaw eventually takes the gun away from Dante, and points it at him. In episode "Home Sweet Home" (S02E07) Jack Sutton (Currie Graham) uses a Smith & Wesson 4506 throughout the episode. However, close inspection of the gun reveals that it lacks the custom slide, so it is a different prop. The following weapons were used in the television series Dark Blue:
Handguns
Colt MK IV Series 80
Lt. Carter Shaw (Dylan McDermott) switches his SIG-Sauer P228 to a customized Colt MK IV Series 80 halfway into the first series. The same pistol is also used by Jimmy (Cole Hauser) in the series Chase and also by Detective Ludlow (Keanu Reeves) in the film Street Kings. Before the particular gun becomes Shaw's sidearm in the series, an unknown thug working for Howard (Al Sapienza) can briefly be seen with it, before being gunned down by Curtis in episode "Purity" (S01E03). Ty Curtis (Omari Hardwick) also uses Shaw's Colt briefly in episode "Shell Game" (S02E08).
Kahr K9
After the pilot, Jaimie Allen (Nicki Aycox) starts carrying a Kahr K9 pistol as her sidearm. She carries it throughout the first series. In episode "Jane Wayne" (S02E06) a thug named Lil Ant (Brock Lumarque) disarms Officer Allen of her Kahr and fires it at her teammates (altough, unsuccesfully).
SIG-Sauer P226
FBI agents Hollis (Kyle Secor) and Boyle (José Zuñiga) use SIG-Sauer P226s as their sidearms in the pilot episode. Ty Curtis (Omari Hardwick) and Dean Bendis (Logan Marshall-Green) (from the second episode onwards) also use SIG-Sauer P226s as their sidearms (though Bendis later trades his P226 for a Heckler & Koch USP in S01E08). In episode "Ice" (S01E06) Dan Kemp (Michael Bowen) has a SIG-Sauer P226 as his sidearm. In episode "Betsy" (S01E09), a SIG-Sauer P226 can be seen in the midst of the guns in the hotel room. Dean Bendis uses a SIG-Sauer P226 again in episode "Personal Effects" (S02E10), as he is working undercover. Danny Perry (Johnny Messner) later takes the P226 from Bendis adn uses it to shoot Ty Curtis (Omari Hardwick) in the same episode.
SIG-Sauer P226 (nickel)
A random criminal can be seen "mexican-carrying" nickel plated SIG-Sauer P226 in episode "Jane Wayne" (S02E06). A drive-by gangster also uses a P226 in the same episode. A gangster working for Walter Shell (Charles S. Dutton) has a nickel SIG-Sauer P226 in episode "Shell Game" (S02E08). Josh (Cory Hardrict) later takes the gun, to be fired upon by Dean Bendis (Logan Marshall-Green) to pop off the squibs under his shirt.
SIG Sauer P226 ("Non Gun")
In episode "Shelter of the Beast" (S02E03) Dean Bendis' (Logan Marshall-Green) Heckler & Koch USP briefly turns into a Non Gun SIG-Sauer as he fires his gun into the air to scare off a hitman.
SIG-Sauer P228
Carter Shaw (Dylan McDermott) uses a SIG-Sauer P228 as his sidearm throught the first half of the first series. He then switches to a customized Colt MK IV Series 80. Jaimie Allen (Nicki Aycox) briefly handles a SIG-Sauer P228 as he is trying to sting a low-level gun deale in episode "Brother's Keeper" (S02E05). One of Maxwell Vasek's (Nicholas Guilak) bodyguards keeps a SIG-Sauer P228 as his sidearm in episode "Dead Flowers" (S02E09).
SIG-Sauer P239
FBI Special Agent Alex Rice (Tricia Helfer) takes a SIG-Sauer P239 out of a drawer in episode "High Rollers" (S02E04), as he prepares to meet Billy Hoffman (Rick Hoffman) during a sting operation.
Colt Government Model
Ty Curtis (Omari Hardwick) keeps a nickel plated Colt Government Model pistol in a safe box, alongside a Beretta 92FS. He takes it out and uses it in the pilot episode after Lt. Shaw (Dylan McDermott) sends him back undercover. Jack Walsh (Clayne Crawford) also keeps an M1911A1 as his sidearm in episode "K-Town" (S01E04). He is only briefly seen firing it at Curtis, but he is quickly disarmed by Dean Bendis. His 1911 seems to be fitted with either Novak or Bomar sights. Lt. Jay Frye (Michael Biehn) also uses a customized M1911A1 as his sidearm in the episode "O.I.S" (S01E07). His 1911 is fitted with Novak sights. A thug working for a smuggler named Frank (Jamie McShane), also briefly handles a regular M1911A1 in the beginning of episode "Betsy" (S01E09). One is also seen in the same episode amidst the guns that Shaw is using as bait. In episode "Brother's Keeper" (S02E05), Kyle Erikson (John Pyper-Ferguson) is seen with an M1911A1 in a promo picture for his militia. In the same episode, Carter Shaw (Dylan McDermott) briefly handles an M1911A1 with wood grips, as he lays it on a table. Danny (Johnny Messner) also uses a customized M1911A1 in episode "Dead Flowers" (S02E09). The gun is similar to what Lt. Frye and Jack Walsh used on the show, and might be the same prop on all occasions.
Colt Government Model (stainless)
Militia leader Kyle Erikson (John Pyper-Ferguson) uses a stainless M1911A1 as his sidearm in Brother's Keeper" (S02E05).
Custom Engraved M1911A1
Carter Shaw (Dylan McDermott) presents Danny Perry (Johnny Messner) with a customized nickel plated and engraved M1911A1 in episode "Personal Effects" (S02E10). As Shaw picks it up and gives it to Danny, his brother Nick (Seamus Dever) takes it from him, but soon gives it back.
Beretta 92FS
Ty Curtis has a Beretta 92FS in a safe box alongside his Colt Government Model in the pilot episode. The Beretta 92FS is also used by a guard and one of Warren Volk's men in the bank during the pilot episode. Dean Bendis (Logan Marshall-Green) also keeps a Beretta 92FS in a locked box along with his drugs and cash hidden under his floor boards. He sometimes uses the Beretta when he's undercover, as he can't use his duty gun. A Korean gangster, Kang (Brian Tee) also uses a Beretta 92FS in episode "K-Town" (S01E04). A Korean thug is also seen firing a 92FS in the same episode. A couple of thugs working for Dante Rollings (Gbenga Akinnagbe) are also seen with Berettas in episode "August" (S01E05). Officer Noyce (John T. Woods) and Officer Kim (Yun Choi) of Lt. Frye's (Michael Biehn) rogue task force also carry the Beretta 92FS as their sidearms in episode "O.I.S" (S01E07). A Beretta is also seen lying on a table in a drub lab in the same aforementioned episode. In episode Venice Kings (S01E08), Pike (Matt Bushell) and leader of the Venice Kings Mike O'Neill (Shawn Doyle) both carry Beretta 92FSs. In Betsy (S01E09), Frank (Jamie McShane) also carries a Beretta. In the same episode, a Beretta can also be seen in the midst of the guns that Shaw is using as bait. In episode "Urban Garden" (S02E01), a thug working for Serbian gangster Victor (Rhys Coiro) tries to pull a Beretta 92FS on Lt. Carter Shaw, but is quickly gunned down by Dean Bendis. In episode "Liar's Poker" (S02E02), two hitmen working for Raphael Garza (Jose Pablo Cantillo) use Beretta 92FSs as their guns of choice. A thug working for Raphael Garza pulls a Beretta 92FS during a 'friendly' stand off between Garza and Curtis in episode "Shelter of the Beast" (S02E03). In the same episode, a thug working for another drug dealer tries to use a Beretta during a bust, but is shot down quickly. In episode "High Rollers" (S02E04), Tim Rowe (Max Martini) uses a Beretta 92FS to fire at Shaw and his team after injuring Billy Hoffman (Rick Hoffman). In "Brother's Keeper" (S02E05), Ty Curtis goes undercover as a prison guard truck driver, and has a Beretta 92FS as his appointed sidearm. Dean Bendis later takes the gun from Curtis, and gives it to Carter Shae, who uses it for a good proportion of the episode. Dean also uses his personal Beretta during this episode, as he is undercover and can't uses duty gun. Militia man Kyle Erikson (John Pyper-Ferguson) later confiscates the Beretta from Shaw in his hideout. In the aforementioned episode, several deputies, security guards and a police officer can also be seen with Beretta 92FS pistols as their sidearms. Glenn Fischer (Erik Ladin) also briefly flashes a Beretta tucked in his pants in the same episode. In episode "Jayne Wayne" (S02E06), a couple of Cahill's (Dean Norris) accomplices are seen with Beretta pistols.
