::I would definitely agree. I wouldn't even give the 96 its own section, as there is basically no way to tell the different calibre guns apart without a very good look at the slide markings, just merge the guns into the relevant section. As the only appearances listed are games, I hghly doubt that a games developer will actually be basing the model off of a .40 96 anyway, they will just use the much more common 92 for reference so listing it as being a 96 is not necessarily correct. Just curious, how is it established in the RE games that the gun in quetion is a .40, is it just presumption based on the magazine size, or is it actually stated as a 96, as the "appears as" column just lists it as a "Samurai Edge".  --commando552 15:03, 29 August 2012 (CDT)

::Material for Samurai Edge describe Barry's as being converted to a .40S&W chambering from a base model of a 92FS. So it's kind of a sticky spot as to how to categorize it. It may have a 96's slide, barrel and magazine, but it started as a 92FS. So yes, it's still a .40 in the other games as well, it's just debatable as to whether it's actually a 96.--PistolJunkie 15:12, 29 August 2012 (CDT)
Considering that:
* The in-game model is most likely based on the 92FS model with no functional changes to make it "actually" .40S&W
* The lore describes the in-game weapon to be originally a 92FS converted to .40S&W
* In some games, the caliber isn't even stated to be .40S&W
I think it would be more reasonable to merge all the Barry Burton Samurai Edges back into the Beretta 92FS Brigadier section on the Beretta 92 page, putting them next to the other Samurai Edges. --Wuzh (talk) 16:20, 29 October 2019 (EDT)

Shouldn't this page be merged with the Beretta 92 page. --AdAstra2009 14:15, 29 August 2012 (CDT)
I would definitely agree.

Material for Samurai Edge describe Barry's as being converted to a .40S&W chambering from a base model of a 92FS.

 • The in-game model is most likely based on the 92FS model with no functional changes to make it "actually" .40S&W
 • The lore describes the in-game weapon to be originally a 92FS converted to .40S&W
 • In some games, the caliber isn't even stated to be .40S&W

I think it would be more reasonable to merge all the Barry Burton Samurai Edges back into the Beretta 92FS Brigadier section on the Beretta 92 page, putting them next to the other Samurai Edges. --Wuzh (talk) 16:20, 29 October 2019 (EDT)
