Introduced by Winchester in 1876, the Winchester Model 1876 is a larger, stronger version of the Winchester Model 1873, designed to use higher-power centerfire rifle cartridges. It was available in the following calibers: 40-60 WCF, 45-60 WCF, 45-75 WCF, 50-95 Express. It was manufactured in four different variations: carbine, musket, sporting rifle, and express rifle. It was manufactured and sold from 1876 to 1897. Approximately 64,000 were manufactured.
