Killer Elite is a 2011 action thriller starring Jason Statham as Danny Bryce, a former mercenary who discovers his mentor Hunter (Robert De Niro) has been held prisoner after he failed to complete a job. Bryce then is told that he must complete this job, which involves eliminating several SAS operatives involved in allegedly killing the sons of a wealthy Sheikh, or else Hunter will be killed. As Bryce attempts to complete the mission, he is pursued by Spike Logan (Clive Owen), an SAS operative tasked by a secret society to protect the targeted men. The film co-stars Yvonne Strahovski, Dominic Purcell, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. Despite the similar name, this film is not a remake of the 1975 Sam Peckinpah film The Killer Elite, but instead is based on the 1991 novel "The Feather Men" by Sir Ranulph Fiennes (a former SAS operative and author who also is the cousin to the father of actors Ralph Fiennes and Joseph Fiennes).
The following weapons were used in the film Killer Elite (2011):
Handguns
Browning Hi-Power
Spike Logan (Clive Owen) is seen threatening Danny Bryce (Jason Statham) with a Browning Hi-Power as well as other Feather Men.
Heckler & Koch P7
A Heckler & Koch P7 is carried by the MI6 man (David Whiteley) when he attempts to ambush Spike (Clive Owen) and Bryce (Jason Statham). The pistol is also used by Spike.
Beretta 92SB
Danny Bryce (Jason Statham) uses a Beretta 92SB throughout the film, including the tunnel chase in Oman. The pistol is period correct as the film was set in the early 1980s.
Beretta 92FS
Danny Bryce (Jason Statham) is also seen with a Beretta 92FS in Mexico and in London (the 92FS was not widely available until after the film's setting). The film's poster shows Spike (Clive Owen) chambering one but he never used one in the film.
High Standard Sharpshooter M
Hunter (Robert De Niro) uses a High Standard Sharpshooter M while at a subway station in Paris.
Glock 17
Hunter uses a Glock 17 he took from his captors in Oman. The use of a Glock pistol would be anachronistic as the film at this point takes place in 1981 and the Glock would not widely available for another year.
M1911A1
After running out of ammunition for the Glock, Hunter switches to a M1911A1-type pistol with blonde wood grips. One of the targets, Harris (Lachy Hulme), is later seen giving a M1911A1 for his girlfriend to fire during a party.
SIG-Sauer P226
The Agent (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) has a SIG-Sauer P226 in his waistband, which Danny takes when forcing him to divulge some information. Davies (Dominic Purcell) wields a P226 during the desert tunnel chase, and the Agent later drops a P226 in the subway station. The weapon is another anachronism, since the P226 was developed after 1980, the year in which the film is set.
Smith & Wesson Model 27
Meier (Aden Young) uses what appears to be a nickel-plated Smith & Wesson Model 27 snubnosed revolver throughout the film.
Shotguns
Remington 870
Anne (Yvonne Strahovski) is seen firing a Remington 870 into the air during a New Year's Eve celebration in Australia, based on the magazine tube cap that can be seen briefly in a close-up.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
One of the Sheikh's sons carries a Heckler & Koch MP5A3 in a flashback. While the use of the MP5 in the film wouldn't be anachronistic, the use of a curved magazine would.
Rifles
Colt M727
Hunter (Robert De Niro) uses a Colt Model 727 during the takedown in Mexico at the film's beginning. This setup might not be entirely anachronistic, but the A2 style rear sight most likely is.
Norinco Type 56
Omani rebels fighting during the Dhofar Rebellion are seen with Norinco Type 56 rifles.
L1A1 SLR
SAS commandos training in the Brecon Beacons, including Major Steven Cregg (Grant Bowler) carry L1A1 rifles.
IMI Galil SAR
Hunter (Robert De Niro) can be seen carrying a scoped Galil SAR in the film. He took off the scope during the car chase.
AKMSU
One of the sheikh's guards in Oman carries an AKMSU.
.22 caliber rifle
During the desert tunnel chase, Martin (Ben Mendelsohn), one of the ex-SAS "Locals", can be seen wielding a .22 caliber rifle fitted with a wire stock.
