'''''My Name Is Bruce''''' is a 2007 independent horror comedy that satirizes the career of B-Movie actor [[Bruce Campbell]] of ''[[The Evil Dead]]'' fame. In the film, a desperate town hires the actor to be their monster hunter, as an ancient Chinese Demon wreaks havoc on their lives. Bruce Campbell (portraying a version of himself) agrees, thinking it is some sort of movie or PR gig. Little does he realize that he is really being hired to fight a real monster. In order to maximize the film's budget, Campbell produced and directed the feature on and around his own property in Oregon.
This movie premiered at the Ashland Film Festival in 2007, however, it had problems getting a release date in the United States for a long time. Despite having had many "premiere showings" across the country (one in San Francisco as late as Dec 2008), by January 2009, the DVD rights had only been sold in the European territories. Finally, the American DVD was released (with neither fanfare nor advertising) to the U.S. DVD market in February 2009.
