Planet Terror is the first half of 2007's Grindhouse double bill which includes Death Proof. The horror film was directed by Robert Rodriguez, and follows a group of survivors that struggle to escape a town filled with inhabitants infected with a deadly virus. Planet Terror was released on DVD separately with additional scenes added and featured a mock trailer for a revenge film called Machete, which was subsequently expanded into a full theatrical film released in 2010.

Colt Python
Sheriff Hague (Michael Biehn) carries a 4 inch stainless Colt Python with rubber grips as sidearm throughout the film. Deputy Tolo (Tom Savini) also uses a similar Colt Python outside the police station. During that scene, at the hospital and at the Bone Shack, both Hague and Tolo’s Colt Python switches to a 4 inch stainless Ruger Security Six in a continuity error back and forth. Wray (Freddy Rodriguez) is given a Ruger Security Six by Sheriff Hague at The Bone Shack it where it switches back to a Colt Python and he uses it through the end of the film.
Ruger Security Six
Deputy Tolo (Tom Savini) uses a 4 inch stainless Ruger Security Six revolver with Pachmayr grips at the police station and at the hospital. Sheriff Hague (Michael Biehn) hands one to Wray at The Bone Shack (which changes to a Colt Python after leaving on the pocket bike), while Cherry hands him a Smith & Wesson Model 586. Both are flashily twirled.

Lt. Muldoon (Bruce Willis) carries a M1911A1 throughout the film. Soldier rapist (Quentin Tarantino) uses a Rock Island Armory 1911 to threaten Cherry Darling (Rose McGowan) and Dr. Block (Marley Shelton).

Abby (Naveen Andrews) uses a Makarov PM when the deal for the "shit" with Lt. Muldoon (Bruce Willis) goes bad.
Single Action Army
A Single Action Army is used by Earl McGraw (Michael Parks). It is amazingly seen firing seven shots when he uses it against the infected Dr. Block (Josh Brolin). Director Robert Rodriguez notes on the DVD commentary that he purposely added the seventh shot in the sound mix.
