::Colt does make a piston version of the M4 called the "Advanced Piston Carbine" I think they announced it the middle of last year and it is currently listed on the Colt site with the Military/LEO only 14.5" barrelled full auto Model P0977, and the semi auto 16" barrel Model LE6940P which is listed on the Law Enforcement and Consumer pages. Don't know if they are actually making them yet, but the design does exist.
