Ben Affleck is an American actor/director who had initially been known for the numerous films he had appeared in for director [[Kevin Smith]]. In 1998, he received the Academy Award for Best Screenplay for co-writing the 1997 film ''Good Will Hunting'' along with his fellow co-star and friend [[Matt Damon]]. He then gained stardom for appearing in such big budget feature films such as ''[[Armageddon]]'', ''[[Pearl Harbor]]'', and ''[[Paycheck]]'' as well as taking on the role of [[Jack Ryan]] in 2002's ''[[The Sum of All Fears]]'' and of Bruce Wayne/Batman starting with 2016's ''[[Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice]]''. In more recent years, Affleck has directed several acclaimed films, including ''[[The Town]]'' and ''[[Argo]]'' (which received the Academy Award for [[Best Picture]]).
