Used by | Used by [[Jeremy Clarkson]] during a [http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear/videos/index.shtml?cat=challenges&id=19 "Car Biathlon"] intended to test SUVs. Fitted with an Aimpoint CompM2 scope and flashlight in the forearm, he failed to hit any of the targets, but managed to hit a tree enough for it to fall over ... somehow ... Clarkson incorrectly called it a 'machine pistol' - this may be because sub machineguns are called machine pistols in many northern European languages ("maschinenpistole" in German, thus the "MP" in "MP5", and "kulsprutepistol" in Swedish). As this MP5 was probably borrowed from the Norwegian police or military, the Norwegians may well have referred to it as a machine pistol.

Jeremy Clarkson uses an AR-15 carbine fitted with an Aimpoint CompM4 during the Eastern America road trip, to perform a drive-by shooting out of his Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, with its gull-wing doors providing a distinct advantage over the other two cars. The rifles are fitted with SUSATs, BFAs and MILES units (intended to trigger sensors on Clarkson's cars to determine how often he gets shot). Clarkson refers to them as "the Mark Two version of the Army's SA80 rifle; which differs from the Mark One, because it works."

Whilst nominally a motoring-magazine show, Top Gear has featured firearms as part of stunt tests for various cars, usually involving the British military.
The following weapons were used in the television series Top Gear:
Colt Junior
A Colt Junior is owned by one of the Miami used car dealers in the US Roadtrip special.
Beretta 92FS
Used by James May during the Eastern America road trip, to perform a drive-by shooting out of his Ferrari 458 Italia.
Smith & Wesson M&P
Used by Richard Hammond during the Eastern America road trip, to perform a drive-by shooting out of his Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
SIG-Sauer P229
During the Eastern America road trip, Jeremy Clarkson is seen using a SIG-Sauer P229 in the training session before the drive-by shooting challenge.
Smith & Wesson Model 36
One of the bad guys in the fake Interceptors intro from 17x05 is seen holding a Smith & Wesson Model 36 on Hammond while he drives.
Walther P38
Clarkson carries a Walther P38 as his sidearm in the mock Interceptors intro.
Remington 870
A Remington 870 with black synthetic furniture is given to Jeremy and James for the Polar special as protection from polar bears.
Sten
James May is shown using a Sten gun during the Interceptors intro to kill a baddie.
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
Used by Jeremy Clarkson during a "Car Biathlon" intended to test SUVs.
AR-15 Carbine
Jeremy Clarkson uses an AR-15 carbine fitted with an Aimpoint CompM4 during the Eastern America road trip, to perform a drive-by shooting out of his Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, with its gull-wing doors providing a distinct advantage over the other two cars. An AR-15 carbine also appears in the 2010 Christmas Special.
AK-47
An AK-47 is seen held by Jeremy and Richard during their Caravan holiday. Jeremy apparently brought it because "A weekend, in a box with James May." It is also seen during a segment discussing Communist cars, where Jeremy pulls it on James while riding in a GAZ M-13.
AK Variant
Seen mounted inside the Paramount Marauder armored vehicle are two unknown (possibly fake) AK variants.
SA80
L85A2s are used by snipers from the Irish Guards to fire at a pair of Sports cars in an evasive driving stunt. The rifles are fitted with SUSATs, BFAs and MILES units (intended to trigger sensors on Clarkson's cars to determine how often he gets shot). Clarkson refers to them as "the Mark Two version of the Army's SA80 rifle; which differs from the Mark One, because it works." Also used by commandos from the Royal Marines in a stunt involving using a Ford Fiesta in an amphibious assault. Another stunt involved the latest updated A2s with the Daniel Defense quad-rail foreguards and grip-pods used by British Troops from various regiments of the 7th Armoured Brigade in a game of "British Bulldog", shooting (allegedly) live rounds against Clarkson, who was trying to get from one side of the Royal Armoured Corps training centre at Bovington to the other (in one piece).
FN Minimi Para / L110A1
Seen used by Commandos from the Royal Marines during the Amphibious landing stunt.
L7 Machine Gun
Seen Mounted on a British Army Challenger II MBT that chased a Range Rover across a training ground, and on various landing craft during the amphibious assault stunt.
Browning M2
Seen mounted on various armoured vehicles used to play "British Bulldog" against a Mitsubishi Evo VIII. At least one was fitted with a SUSAT.
Paintball Guns
Used in the stretch limo episode when the presenters test their limousines' performances. They appear to be Tippmann 98 Customs. While one presenter drives the limousine, the other two presenters must shoot the driver's limousine to see how many times their limousine is shot. When James May jumps out of the front half of his limousine to get to the steering wheel of the other half, Jeremy shoots at James' crotch.
Ruger 10/22
Owned by one of the Miami used-car dealers in the US Roadtrip special, fitted with a scope.
MPi-KM-72
Carried by Zimbabwean Border Guards in the African Special.
Winchester Model 70
During the Botswana special, the crew's bush guide in the Okavango Delta is seen using a Winchester Model 70 to shoot holes in Clarkson's Lancia and May's Mercedes-Benz to drain the water after a botched river crossing.
Accuracy International AS50
Seen used in Top Gear At The Movies. AI shooting Team filming of their new James Bond vehicle showing it’s “bullet proof” .
Accuracy International AX308
The Accuracy International AX308 was used in one episode.
M230 Chain Gun
An M230 Chain Gun is seen fitted to an AgustaWestland Apache AH1 that was used as part of an evasive driving stunt involving a Lotus Exige.
KPVT Heavy Machine Gun
Seen mounted on a Turkey BTR-60PB during the Middle East special.
