As far as i remember, Stone uses one shot in vain against the M1's front armor, only to recieve a direct hit into the Bradley's rear by the Abrams' main cannon. I'd have to watch it again to be sure. Also he is launching the smoke canisters from the bradley, not to mention using the Bradley itself as a makeshift projectile with the steam catapult to destroy the Abrams.
Maybe the mocked up Abrams tank can be added to the page with a reference, that it was used again as the Decepticon Brawl in Transformers? --[[User:WARthog|WARthog]] 04:40, 19 September 2011 (CDT)
:Yeah, apparently the "stealth tank" was a chopped Freightliner chassis with the radiator cut off, rubber band tracks from a piece of construction equipment and a fake hull and turret. Does seem here it had two real M2s on top of it. Important for ID purposes that we don't call it an Abrams because it isn't one and it's only supposed to be a sci-fi tank that resembles one; it's sorta half Abrams and half Leopard 2. Didn't Willem Dafoe use an H&K Mk. 23 SOCOM Mod. 0? I saw it on TV a while back and saw it. I don't own this DVD though because personally I think this movie sucks compared to the first one, but if someone owns it, they should look into it. -GM
- That's what the page used to say, and the answer is, Nope. The gun used by Deckert (Dafoe) is the same USP Compact Tactical that is used by Lt. Cobb. Cobbs gives him the CT just before he gets on the bullet train. However, his hands are apparently tiny, so it looks big in his hands, almost SOCOM-sized.
- Also, if anyone has this movie on DVD, feel free to replace all of my fairly low-quality screencaps with higher-res versions. Then again, considering how much this movie sucks, I'd hope nobody actually spent money on it. -MT2008
- Eventually I guess I could rent it. Maybe if it is in the $5 bin at wal-mart. Definately not worth more than that. -GM
Is that a real MK46/48 or just an M249 mocked up to resemble them? --Charon68 11:57, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
- That is a real Mark 46 used in the film. I was one of the armorers on the film and the MK46's we had were the only two in the industry. Phoenixent 19:16, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
What? Nobody's going to add the weapons they found in the 18-wheeler?
moved from main page
Unknown M1911 variants
Several M1911 derivatives are seen throughout the movie. Gibbons is usually seen using pistols of this type, and Stone finds some type of high-capacity 1911 (Para Ordnance?) on the floor of the mansion when he is being framed for murder. A compact 1911 is also seen in Gibbons' safe in his house when he is getting stuff out of there. He takes it with him, only to lose it when he is captured.
Most likely a Springfield.
The 1911 in the pic above is a rearsenaled World War 1 era Colt m1911. Notice the flat mainspring housing, there are no cut outs present behind the trigger, smaller grip safety tang, long 1911 type trigger, ect. It also has a set of World War 2 era Key Fibre grips installed. This was a common practice during WW2 to rearsenal 1911's to be like 1911a1's during the war to provide enough guns for soldiers during the war when supply couldn't meet demand for WW2 era 1911a1's. This particular gun also looks to have a Remington Rand 1911a1 slide fitted on the WW1 frame, another common practice found on Refurbished guns to have mis matched parts as guns were generally taken apart in bulk for repairs and put back together with random parts to build complete guns.
Unknown
At the beginning a NSA Agent fires an unknown weapon, Gibbons fires it when the agent is killed, it looks like shotgun, and it fires like one to, he smashes the flying camera with it.
Bad movie for the NRA
And here I thought I couldn't hate this movie anymore. When I rewatched it, there's a scene where Stone was talking to a man who's supposed to be an NRA rep. He's dressed up like this white prick and then Stone gives him advice on how to attract more Blacks by "stop buying country music, stop burning crosses and stop shooting black folks", of course then going real stereotypical on blacks by saying they should try fried food cook outs Excalibur01 17:51, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
- Well, I think that since every black guy in the movie save for Gibbons is or was a thug or gangster of some sort, the stereotypes kind of cancel each other out. Spartan198 04:57, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
- Well, since the movie was such a joke and everyone IN it was a cartoon character (of the worst kind) that didn't bother me as much. ALL of the stereotypes were ridiculous. I mean seriously. Black gangsta thugs beating Modern American Military? In Spike Lee's wet fantasies maybe, but not in the real world. Lee Tamahori is an idiot. mpm
USP CT Correction
It sohuld be noted that the USP CT is actually a mocked up USP Compact. USP CT's are stamped "USP CT 45", the film clearly shows the Compact stamp. so a threaded barrel was added for the imagery of a true CT. Looks like raised sights were added as well...
