Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever is a 2002 film that stars Antonio Banderas as Jeremiah Ecks, an FBI agent who retired after the death of his wife seven years ago, that, for reasons unexplained by the film, is recruited by FBI Head Julio Martin (Miguel Sandoval) to find the DIA director's recently kidnapped son who is believed to have been taken by seemingly rogue DIA agent Sever (Lucy Liu). Due to its incomprehensible plot and blatant continuity errors between shots, it is regularly claimed as one of the worst films ever made and bombed at the box office. A video game for the Game Boy Advance titled Ecks vs. Sever which utilized an earlier, more logically coherent, version of the script was released before the movie to relatively high reviews. | |||

The following weapons were used in the film Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever:
Handguns
SIG-Sauer P226
Agent Jeremiah Ecks (Antonio Banderas) carries a SIG-Sauer P226 as his sidearm of choice in the film. P226s are also used by some of the DIA special operators in the film. Sever (Lucy Liu) later takes and uses Ecks' P226 and points it at him during the bus chase/shootout, but she later unloads the pistol and sets it next to him as a sign of good will.
SIG-Sauer P228
Ecks' partner Harry (Terry Chen) carries a smaller SIG-Sauer P228 as his sidearm throughout the film. A P228 is also carried by an FBI Agent who tries to detain Ecks early in the movie.
Beretta 92FS
The Beretta 92FS is used by nearly all the characters in the film including Agent Sever (Lucy Liu), Agent Jeremiah Ecks (Antonio Banderas) A.J. Ross (Ray Park), and Zane (Roger R. Cross). In addition, numerous DIA agents and Vancouver police officers carry the handgun in the film.
Taurus PT92
What Sever (Lucy Liu) uses as a specially modified gun for administering the virus is a modified Taurus PT92 fitted with a prop shell on top of the slide (this may also be the similar PT99, depending on the sights, which are not visible beneath the external shell).
M1911A1
Robert Gant (Gregg Henry) orders the surviving guard of the ambush to shoot himself in the temple with a specially modified chrome M1911A1. Like the pistol in The Silencers the gun is modified to fire backwards with the intent that the man's life would be spared if he followed orders, discharging the round harmlessly to the side, or ended if he turned the gun on Gant. The oblivious agent chose the latter course of action.
Glock 17L (?)
After firing off the M60 on the assault vehicle during the Vancouver library shootout, Sever (Lucy Liu) grabs a pistol from the ground that was dropped by one of the DIA operators. It appears to be a Glock 17L fitted with an under-barrel laser sight, though it is only seen briefly and not clearly enough to be sure.
Shotguns
Heckler & Koch FABARM
Ecks carries a Heckler & Koch FABARM shotgun in his pursuit of Sever after the library plaza engagement. He later uses a similar gun against Gant's men in the final showdown at the train yard. This is also the shotgun he is seen wielding on the poster for the film.
Remington 870
In a continuity error, Ecks' FABARM becomes a Remington 870.
Armsel Protecta
Before climbing out of the wrecked prison transport bus, Ecks grabs a "Street Sweeper" shotgun with a full length barrel which he uses ineffectively against Sever.
Mossberg 500 (Custom)
A cutdown Mossberg 500 shotgun with heat shield, front and rear pistol grips, and saddle shell holder is seen on the wall of Sever's armory. Since this movie was filmed in Vancouver and supplied by the armorers there, this is the exact same shotgun that was seen in Reindeer Games, 3000 Miles to Graceland, and Smokin' Aces 2: Assassins' Ball (all of which were also filmed in Vancouver).
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
The Heckler & Koch MP5A3 is fired by DIA agents and Vancouver police ERT officers during the library plaza shootout and carried by Ross during the final shootout at the train yard.
Heckler & Koch MP5A2
The Heckler & Koch MP5A2 is fired by Agent Sever (Lucy Liu) during the final shootout at the train tracks. MP5A2s are also used frequently by DIA agents and Vancouver police ERT officers throughout the film (the latter sometimes use MP5A2s with Surefire foreends).
Heckler & Koch MP5K
A Heckler & Koch MP5K is used by Gant's agent assigned to guard his son at the film's beginning. Sever also uses one to fire at Harry in the abandoned warehouse, and also briefly during the train yard shootout.
FN P90
During the shootout at Vancouver library Plaza, Sever commandeers an FN P90 from one of Gant's undercover agents and uses it extensively during her shootout with the police and DIA agents.
Rifles / Carbines
M4A1 Carbine
The M4A1 Carbine is used by several characters in the film including both Ecks and Sever as well as Robert Gant (Gregg Henry). Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever is one of the first movies to feature M4s with the newer 6-position ("LE") collapsible stock.
Heckler & Koch G36K
Heckler & Koch G36Ks are used by DIA agents during the shootouts at the Vancouver library plaza and the train yard. Also seen on the wall of Sever's armory and used by Ecks during the train yard fight with Gant's agents.
AKS-74U
While helping Ecks escape the prison transport bus, Sever carries a AKS-74U with black furniture and fitted with a GP-25 grenade launcher which she uses to destroy the bus and topple several piles of vehicles in the scrap yard. She also uses a standard AKS-74U without the GP-25 during the train yard shootout (due to a continuity error, it often switches back and forth with an MP5A2).
Remington 700PSS
The DIA sniper with Ross and Zane uses a Remington 700PSS sniper rifle during the library plaza shootout, somehow firing it several times without working the bolt to chamber another round.
Remington 700 with Choate Super Sniper Stock
One of the DIA snipers in the library plaza shootout uses a Remington 700 with Choate Super Sniper Stock.
Heckler & Koch SL8-6
The DIA sniper that is on the rooftop with Zane and the M60 gunner uses a Heckler & Koch SL8-6 sniper rifle fitted with a bipod.
Heavy Weapons
M60 machine gun
During the library plaza shootout, a special assault team arrives in an armored vehicle with a specially mounted M60 machine gun to assist the police and Gant's men. However, Sever manages to takeout the assault team and turn the machine gun on her attackers to great effect. An M60 is also used by a DIA agent when Ecks and Sever are fighting on the rooftop.
Cobray CM203 37mm flare launcher
The Cobray CM203 Launcher standing in for the M203 grenade launcher is used by Agent Sever when she acquires an M4 with the M203 attachment and uses to take out a sniper on a rooftop during the library plaza shootout. It should be noted that she fired 2 grenades without reloading.
GP-25 Grenade launcher
A GP-25 Grenade launcher is mounted underneath the AKS-74U used by Sever when she helps Ecks escape.
DefTech 37mm rotary launcher
The DefTech 37mm launcher is used by Zane and Escort Agent Sc. 111 in the final engagement at the trainyard. It's being portrayed as an HE grenade launcher as they fire numerous rounds at Sever but only manage to destroy the shipping container she was standing on.
