Elite Squad: The Enemy Within (Portuguese: Tropa de Elite 2 – O Inimigo Agora é Outro, Elite Troop 2: The Enemy is Now Another; also known as Elite Squad 2) is the 2010 sequel to 2007's Elite Squad (Tropa de Elite). José Padilha returns from the first film as director and follows Lieutenant Colonel Roberto Nascimento (Wagner Moura) and Captain Andre Matias (Andre Ramiro) of the Batalhão de Operações Policiais Especiais (Special Operations Battalion) or BOPE as they combat criminals and uncover a broader conspiracy between members of the Military Police and government officials.
The following weapons were used in the film Elite Squad: The Enemy Within:
Error creating thumbnail: File missing WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!
Handguns
Taurus PT92
The Taurus PT92 is used by Major Rocha (Sandro Rocha) and other Rio de Janeiro Military Police (PMERJ) officers, as well as by various criminals throughout the film.
Taurus PT940
Beirada (Seu Jorge), an imprisoned Comand Vermelho (Red Command) gang leader, uses a Taurus PT940 given to him by a corrupt prison guard to start a riot and execute rival gang members at the Bangu I penitentiary.
Taurus PT 24/7
A Taurus PT 24/7 is among the weapons recovered by BOPE officers following a raid on the western Rio de Janeiro neighborhood of Tanque.
Glock 17
A gunman is seen with a Glock 17 pistol when he and other attackers steal weapons from the Rio de Janeiro Civil Police detachment in Tanque.
Glock 25
A member of Rocha's "militia" is shown checking a compact Glock while preparing for a mission. A Glock 25 is also used to threaten Clara (Taina Muller), a reporter who uncovers the militia's collusion with senior political figures.
IMBEL MD5 LX
BOPE officers use IMBEL MD5 LX pistols in .40 S&W.
Shotguns
Stakeout Shotgun
A prison guard carries a shotgun of unknown make that is later captured by prisoners in the introduction.
Submachine Guns
MAC-10
A MAC-10 is fired by a gangster at a BOPE "Caveirao" armored car when the police raid Tanque.
Rifles
IMBEL M964 A1 ParaFAL
Most BOPE officers are armed with the IMBEL M964 A1 ParaFAL carbine, including Captain Andre Matias (Andre Ramiro). The ParaFAL is a updated version of the M964 featuring a shorter barrel and light-weight polymer parts instead of the traditional aluminum. Available as either a parts kit or as a completely new weapon, the ParaFAL is currently used by many Brazilian police and military units.
IMBEL MD-97 LC
Some BOPE officers are also seen with IMBEL MD-97 LC rifles with picatinny rail mounts on the receiver. The MD-97 LC is the semi-automatic law enforcement version of the MD-97.
IMBEL IA2
Colonel Roberto Nascimento (Wagner Moura) uses an IMBEL IA2 during the final shootout of the film.
M16A1 (With M16A2 Handguards)
A few of Rocha's officers use M16A1 rifles with M16A2 handguards while escorting the major on his errands.
Colt AR-15 Sporter-1 Carbine
The Colt AR-15 Sporter-1 Carbine is used by militia members and criminals throughout the film.
Colt AR-15A2 Sporter Lightweight
A Colt AR-15A2 Sporter Lightweight, distinguished by solid stock and lack of bayonet lug, is carried by one of Rocha's men as they prepare to embark on a mission.
M4A1 Carbine
M4A1 carbines in both standard and modified variations are used by BOPE officers and members of Rocha's militia.
Norinco Type 56-1
Gang leader Felpa uses a Norinco Type 56-1 rifle when his territory is invaded by BOPE officers. Interestingly, the weapon has a folded "pig sticker" bayonet mounted beneath it.
Norinco Type 56
The standard Norinco Type 56 is also seen in the hands of gang members and one of the militia members. Like the Type 56-1, it also has a folding bayonet, as well as the slant muzzlebrake from the AKM.
AKS-74U
One of the weapons that Andre and other BOPE officers seize from the raid in Tanque is an AKS-74U.
SIG SG 551
One of Rocha's men is seen cocking a SIG SG 551 towards the end of the movie.
Other
Prop Weapons
Many of the background extras use rubber prop weapons modeled on the M16 and CAR-15 rifles.
