Charley Varrick is a 1973 crime film starring Walter Matthau as the title character, an ingenious thief who must develop a scheme to escape with his loot while evading the police and the mob, whose bank he unknowingly robbed from. The film was adapted from the John H. Reese novel "The Looters" and was directed by Don Siegel (Dirty Harry).
