Vincent Vega ([[John Travolta]]) carries a 9mm [[Star Model BM]] throughout the film. While visually the [[Star Model BM]] is almost identical to Jules' ([[Samuel L. Jackson]]) .45 [[Colt 1911]] it is a much rarer pistol of Spanish manufacture. Despite this rarity the [[Star Model BM]] can generally be had for a third the price of a [[Colt 1911]] of similar condition, and would have been much less expensive than Jules' ([[Samuel L. Jackson]]) chromed and pearl gripped [[Colt 1911]]. While Vincent's ([[John Travolta]]) [[Star Model BM]] has the imposing look of Jules' ([[Samuel L. Jackson]]) [[Colt 1911]] its 9mm punch lacks the power of the famed .45 [[Colt 1911]] - the correlation between the two character's pistols and the two characters themselves could not have been accidental on the filmmakers parts. While Vincent Vega ([[John Travolta]]) attempts to play the same powerful role as Jules ([[Samuel L. Jackson]]), his performance is a comedy of errors. He accidentally shoots and kills Marvin, he disrespects Winston Wolfe, Mrs. Wallace overdoses on heroin while under his care, and he is ultimately killed with his own gun (a silenced [[Mac 10]]), by the man he was sent to kill, while coming out of the bathroom.
