My understand is that petty criminals use weapons that are available, as most handguns on the street are taken from home or guun stor robberies. == Why is Bruce using his right hand in this? ==

As we know (from viewing various pages on here) Bruce Willis is left handed. But in this film he uses his right hand when using his guns. Does anyone know why? Seems a bit odd that they would make him be right handed in the film. --cool-breeze 11:59, 12 April 2011 (CDT)

He's possibly ambidextrous, but mainly uses his left hand. Kornflakes89 23:31, 13 April 2011 (CDT)

I'm not sure, if you look at how he shoots the shotgun at the water thing it looks rather awkward. And every other film he uses his left, what made this one so special that he used his right? --cool-breeze 02:29, 15 April 2011 (CDT)

How does that look awkward?  All he's doing is firing the shotgun from the hip. Ever seen Sin City?  He was right handed in that film as well.  Maybe the character in the book this movie is based off of was right handed, and like Sin City, Bruce wanted to be as authentic as possible. In the film the way he pumps the shotgun always looked rather awkward to me. And I've read the book if they wanted to keep it authentic to the book then they might have actually kept close to the story in the book as they made a ton of deviations that actually hurt the film because the situations and characters are so much better in the book. --cool-breeze 03:33, 18 April 2011 (CDT)

Yes I have, but I was merely pointing out if they wanted to keep it more authentic to the book they could have kept the storyline more in line with the book. --cool-breeze 04:34, 19 April 2012 (CDT)

--User:AdAstra2009 The fake FBI SWAT guy who gets shot in the head by Mars, what gun did he have, I think it was a G36c but i'm not sure or have the resources to look at it again.

He had an M4A1 but he didn't stay still enough for me to grab a screenshot. -GM

I made this before I learned how to chop the bars. Sorry. -GM

Hostagetakers

The hostagetakers seem to have guns that would not normaly be used by a criminals-S&Wshooter 21:30, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

At least they didn't show petty criminals using MP5's-S&Wshooter 22:24, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Hey man, Die Hard had criminals using MP5s and the movie wasn't bad. But Hans Gruber and his thugs obviously aren't petty criminals though.-Oliveira 22:57, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

In the book that this film is based off, the DVD contained evidence against a crime boss whose influence spread across the West Coast, and he must have some people in the FBI on his payroll, which would explain how the crooks got their hands on that high end weaponry and FBI equipment. -500Magnum
