The Kovak Box is a 2006 thriller with science fiction overtones about a writer who finds that his first book, a science fiction tale about mind control, is actually being created for real, and the perpetrators are immersing him into the center of the event as an experiment.
The following weapons were used in the film The Kovak Box:
Browning BDA (replica)
David Norton (Timothy Hutton) is given a semiautomatic pistol in an envelope as part of the complex 'game' that he must undertake in order to save the lives of up to 100 innocent people. The pistol is supposed to be a Browning BDA, however, it is a older version of the blank firing replica of the BDA, made by Umarex of Germany. This is the older Umarex "FN Browning" Model GPDA8 which has an engraved slide (versus a printed logo on the newer models) and a nice set of wooden grips with a gold medallion. This variant of the Umarex GPDA8 is no longer available, having been supplanted by a newer version that only had black synthetic grips.
Unknown Semiautomatic Pistols
Several other characters use and fire weapons that are too far away to positively identify. They may be theatrical blank firing replica pistols, as have been seen in other films like Running Scared (2006).
