Rising Sun is a 1993 thriller directed by Philip Kaufman and based on the bestselling novel of the same name written by Michael Crichton (the author of Jurassic Park). The film stars Wesley Snipes as an LAPD homicide detective who is called in to investigate the murder of a young woman in the boardroom of a powerful Japanese corporation based in Los Angeles.
